Who Wields True Power

The third story published on my The Black Theater YT channel is titled Order of the Housecats.

I often wonder why some policies get to be passed but when you think about it, they should not have been passed logic-wise or ethics-wise.

This led me to thinking that there must be forces who can really influence those who are in power who can muster up enough clout that the ones in power have no choice but to give in.

Then looking at within my household, it's the same though. Some things happen that shouldn't logically but when the wife imposes I have no choice but to give in (for the sake of my sanity).

This got me to thinking maybe these so-called politicians may have been pressured by their wives, no? At least on some occassions. "Honey, if you vote aye(or nay) for that bill to pass, me and the kids are gonna pack up and leave, and you'll never ever see us again."

I used the analogy of the housecat to the wives of politicians. Let's say the government is the household. There will members of the household like the dad (president), mom(Supreme Court), son(senate), daughter(congress), maid(mayor), driver(governor), etc. But the real boss in the household is the housecat.

It is not officially a member of the household but everyone will ascede to the wishes of the cat. If it likes to be petted, you have to pet it. If it likes to go out of the door, you have to open the door. If it likes to be left alone, you won't see them. If it likes a tummy rub, it will be displaying its tummy infront of you and you will rub it because they're cute.

If it doesn't like a particular brand of cat food, no matter what tricks you use it won't eat those pellets. When it likes something, it purrs. When it doesn't, it snarls and growls. The cat uses charm and bossiness to have its way.

Like the wife say of a senator who is not officially part of the government but it can possibly have a say if she nags her husband on how he should vote. Just an example. It could be any government official. It could also be applicable to wife of CEOs.

The story is really a take on why things are decided upon even against logic and reason. If they defy logic and reason, then it means the Order of the Housecats have pulled some strings.
