Cinetv Contest: The Yi-Chan-Cheong-Ah Duo In "Twinkling Watermelon"

You'll know a good on-screen chemistry movie when you are always waiting for the next scene with the duo. I've seen countless Korean and other country series and short movies, this series gave every reason for it to be my first pick for being one with the best on-screen chemistry.

There are other great duos in different movies I've seen but I'm limiting my picks to kdrama series and "Twinkling Watermelon" is my top 1 with the best Duo. I'm pretty sure I won't do justice in presenting this series for the great chemistry it had for me but I'll try and hope you check it out.

Just for a bit detail about the series as a whole, "Twinkling Watermelon" is a 16 episode Korean drama series released in the year 2023 showing the lives of coming of age characters. Romance, time travel, comedy and music are part of it, there's more... Complementary lead characters.

A duo I tag as Yi-Chan-Cheong-Ah, the male lead is Yi Chan and the female lead is Cheong Ah. A duo that brought every scene of their story to live and kept viewers wanting more of them. I know the storyline played a part in making them be the best characters on-screen but they were good.

Picture this... A hearing and speaking impaired girl falls in love with a high spirited boy, the boy falls harder, got into an accident and loses his hearing. Yes, the series could make you fall in love and learn sign language in the sweetest way as they both tries to communicate with each other.

The duo had this total control of the hearts of their viewers as they got to know each other, accept their feelings and make the feelings known to each other even in music, that scene still lives rent free in my head. The genuine smile from Cheong Ah, the facial expressions of Yi Chan... 100%.

When the duo had to play sad or cry, you'd be forced to think it is all real. A lot about the whole series didn't make sense in reality especially the time travel part but this duo made sure to keep viewers too busy with their amazing chemistry onscreen to worry about what's real or not.

A friend who is a lover of reading books said something that I'm curious about, "Book readers connects more to the characters in a story than watching a movie", "Books do more justice to what the characters are like". I didn't argue with these words as I understood what she meant by that after I saw this whole series.

I mean, I wish I could read this particular storyline in a book to feel what my friend feels when she reads book and commend it more than watching the movie based on it. It's a series I could see a good number of times and still read it in books for the sake of this Duo and not get tired of them.

I saw the guy in "Weak hero class 1" and even though he played his role well in that series, I still rate his role with Cheong Ah the highest as they seem to complement each other more. The one I saw the girl in was just a short movie "Homme Fatale" and she had few roles to play so I'm not so sure.

I wish to see these two in a series together again, I don't know when that would be as I feel this particular series was kinda underrated although it has good rating in most of the movie sites. A duo that won my heart at their first together, a duo I can't get enough of... Yi-Chan-Cheong-Ah.

This is my entry to the Cinetv Contest, I hope you do check it out and do share your favourite duo as well.

There are some duos whose chemistry sparks so naturally without them even doing too much... Think these two fit perfectly in that category 😍

I haven't seen Twinkling Watermelon before, but you make it sound so interesting. There's nothing as endearing as actors that have good chemistry in a film. Everything just feels better.

And concerning the books part, I'd read a book over a movie any day because the feelings are raw. Just unadulterated connection between you and your characters.🌺

You should see the series, Jhymi. I guarantee it would be worth your time.

I'll find a good book to experience that myself hehe. Thanks for stopping by.

Twinkling watermelon is one of the best dramas of recent times. I loved it so much when I watched it. Him learning Sign language for her was cute as hell. But the father and son duo?😂 Those two were hilarious

Haha I was tempted to write about the father and son duo too but the two lovebirds won the first place for me.
Cuteness overload 🥰
