π‘»π’‰π’“π’Šπ’π’π’” & 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒆 - "Under The Queen's Umbrella" Review

I love this particular series so much... I'm very sure my words enough can't describe how much I do but I'll try anyways. Giving a good enough review to what I've just watched is all I kept thinking about after the last episode.

I got it on a recommendation after I shared a post about 5 Must-Watch Historical Korean Dramas For Your Watchlist and I want to thank @zeegirl for this sweet recommendation... It was all the scenes I needed to see in a series and definitely the feeling I wanted to have as I watched it hehe.

Thrilling and suspenseful... Those are the right words for this series as I felt so excited in some scene while I'm left to be in curiosity and wonder in some other scene but in all... I couldn't stop laughing or smiling with pride to the powerful female lead, the Queen herself.

"Under The Queen's Umbrella" is a 20 episodes series released in the year 2022 and directed by Kim Hyeong-sik. One of the very few Korean series with a unique storyline, a storyline that doesn't focus on young bloods, romance but instead, it focuses on how the elderly deal with things relating to their children, keeping promises and righting wrongs from the past.

The series is that kind that families will enjoy seeing together for many reasons, here is a short and personal note to show what the series storyline is about.

In a royal palace lived a Queen who isn't able to carry herself as one as she's too busy trying to guide her troublesome Princes to be proper for upcoming circumstances especially after she loses her first son who is the crown Prince. The scenes that ensures shows her umbrella on every of her son and anyone who came in contact with her in hopes of righting the wrongs that her mother in-law had committed since in the past.

Why is this series worth watching? Does it have a happy ending? Are there scenes that got boring?

The answer to that will be very clear as you read on, but one thing I'll be excited to be answered immediately is that, it is definitely going to be worth your watch.

My Personal Review on "Under The Queen's Umbrella"

Honestly, I started the series and the start of the first episode almost made me loss interest but as a fan of kdrama, I paused it and went back to it during that same day then I got hooked. Maybe you won't find the start of the episode the way I saw it but you'll find yourself going on to the next episode from one episode until the end, it has all the thrills and suspense to keep you doing that.

One character anyone would love most in this series is the female lead herself, the Queen. From her words, her actions to her love for her children, anyone is bound to admire her role from start to finish. This series is a worthy watch because it teaches a lot of lessons to families and while it actually shows how lacking mothers are, it also shows what more mothers or guidance can do for their children.

I also find the second son of the Queen thrilling to watch especially as he fights to keep his promise to his favourite but dead brother. From the contest where he excelled faultlessly to his marrying the woman of his fate and bringing a happy ending for his brother's children, all that had me loving his role over and over.

There are a lot of notable characters in this series whose roles would have made the series bad if they had not played it out very well... Including the wicked Dae-bi-ma-ma lol.

The excitement, the comedy and lovely moments you'll find in this series will have you glued to your screen. Imagine a palace with 11 Princes and no Princesses, all are made to compete among themselves for a crown Prince to be chosen. The scenes that ensures are so hilarious and also got my heart beating fast too lol.

There are no boring scenes, I can assure that even from the very start of the first episode. I had a little difficulty seeing it at first because it was completely different from the kdrama I had just finished seeing before it. Talk of a perfect ending, this series promises that as well.

And with all that reasons, I'll recommend this series to anyone with a personal rating of 10/10, oh yeah, it's a perfect one for me hehe.

You should really add it, you'll love it as much as I did. The storyline isn't the regular one we hear of Korean Dramas 😊
