En la boca llevarás… “Sabor a mí”

La siguiente anécdota sucedió en diciembre de 1957, cuando en la cena de Navidad, ya estando comprometidos, Álvaro Carrillo tomaba Whisky y entre trago y trago le depositaba un beso a su novia Anita.
Anita, como buena mujer, le empezó a reclamar que estaba tomando mucho, sugiriendo que dejara de hacerlo. Pero Alvaro hacía “mutis” para servirse otro Whisky y así, sorbo tras sorbo y beso tras beso, los reclamos se hicieron rutina.
En una de esas, Anita le dijo a Álvaro Carrillo que de tanto beso ya la estaba emborrachando, que ella sin tomar nada ya tenía en la boca el sabor a Whisky; Alvaro, tras una breve pausa, le reviró y le dijo: “lo que tienes en la boca no es sabor a Whisky es… sabor a mí”.

Ambos, cómplices de la poesía, entendieron en ese momento que la frase suscitada de ese reclamo era una sentencia poética que debía convertirse canción.

Anita la anotó como tarea para Alvaro y, rompiendo su sobriedad, tomó un trago del vaso de Alvaro y brindaron por el que sería, probablemente, el éxito más grande que Álvaro Carrillo haya compuesto:

nuestra almas se acercaron, tanto así
que yo guardo tu sabor
pero tú llevas también… sabor a mí
Si negaras mi presencia en tu vivir
bastaría con abrazarte y conversar
tanta vida yo te di

no soy nada yo no tengo vanidad
de mi vida, doy lo bueno
yo tan pobre, qué otra cosa puedo dar
Pasarán más de mil años, muchos más
yo no sé si tenga amor la eternidad
pero allá tal como aquí
en la boca llevarás… sabor a mí

Sabor a mí, se convirtió en el bolero más romántico de todos los tiempos, un himno del amor y la pasión.

Está canción nacida de un beso de amor ❤️ y el sabor del licor 🥃 llegaría a los corazones de millones de personas 👥 en todo el mundo.

Taste of me

The following anecdote happened in December 1957, when at Christmas dinner, already engaged, Álvaro Carrillo was drinking Whisky and between drinks deposited a kiss to his girlfriend Anita.
Anita, as a good woman, began to complain that he was drinking too much, suggesting that he stop. But Alvaro "mutis" to pour another whiskey and so, sip after sip and kiss after kiss, the complaints became routine.

In one of those moments, Anita told Alvaro Carrillo that she was getting drunk from so much kissing, that she was already tasting Whisky in her mouth without drinking anything; Alvaro, after a brief pause, told her: "what you have in your mouth is not the taste of Whisky, it's... the taste of me".

Both of them, accomplices of poetry, understood at that moment that the phrase that arose from that claim was a poetic sentence that should become a song. Anita wrote it down as a task for Alvaro and, breaking her sobriety, took a drink from Alvaro's glass and toasted to what would probably be the biggest hit Alvaro Carrillo had ever composed:

A taste of me, became the most romantic bolero of all times, a hymn of love and passion.

This song born from a kiss of love ❤️ and the taste of liquor 🥃 would reach the hearts of millions of people 👥 all over the world.
