Stampede Battle Mage Secrets | Splinterlands #379
This week's battle mage secrets focuses on the Stampede Ruleset.
Ruleset Details
The Stampede ruleset in Splinterlands levels up the power of the Trample ability by allowing it to retrigger infinitely. The key to maximising this ruleset is to select a Trample monster that is strong enough to land killing blows. Apart from using summoners like Possibilus the Wise which gives all monsters the Trample ability, other monsters with the combination of Trample and Sneak or Opportunity will work great. To counter the Trample ability, utilizing monsters that use abilities like Thorns, Shield and Repair to prevent that never-ending Stampede chain.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
For this battle, I did not have any monsters with the Trample ability. Yes, Grund does get the Trample ability, but only at max level. Therefore, I needed to switch focus to countering Trample ability. I selected Grund due to his high health to aid its survivability. Also pairing him with Goblin Psychic and Venari Scout to provide healing and dodge abilities in case the opposition plays a Trample ability monster. Alas, this was not enough, and my opposition was able to dispatch me quite easily with no Trample ability monsters. With three level one legendary monsters -- they did all the damage to shame me back to the drawing board. The trio of Immortalis, Mantaroth and Doctor Blight managed to outsmart my higher levelled summoners and monsters and we took a massive L in this battle.
Do You Like the Stampede Ruleset? Why or Why Not?
The big challenge with this ruleset is dependent on the availability of Trample monsters. As you saw in the above battle, I did not have any monsters and therefore worked under the assumption of trying to counter it (very poorly if I can admit myself). For those that do experience the Stampede and Trample synergy -- it must be one of the most satisfying things to see and see one monster take out multiple opposition monsters.
