The long-awaited Conflicts update has finally arrived in splinterlands. This airdrop mechanism introduces a new approach to earn Rebellion set airdrop cards. The core mechanic involves placing Rebellion cards and packs on Mage wagons. These wagons can be obtained by purchasing them with 50 vouchers ($2) and serving as the hub for accumulating Conflict Points (CP). The interesting aspect is that you can still use the cards you've placed on the wagons in battles increasing their utility. CP accumulates over time and rarer cards contribute more to this process emphasizing the importance of choosing the right cards.

The significant change comes with the airdrop system. Previously, airdrops would be tied to pack purchases, but now players can earn airdrops by holding and staking Rebellion cards or packs. Every 100000 CP earned provides you with a lottery ticket and once you have accumulated 200 tickets you are guaranteed to receive an airdrop card. A very interesting approach, which should increase the utility for Vouchers and Rebellion set cards and packs for the next 3-6 months.

Continuing my land journey in the Jungle Lands of Thece, I have harvested a total of 47.287 SPS (after tax). However, when looking at the market it's important to note that the current market value for Common Jungle Magical plots stands at $85 per plot. Before the Land 1.5 release, common magical plots were sitting below $40, therefore I am happy to see an increase in floor prices. Nevertheless, those who managed to secure plots at $20 are smiling as their Payback Period and APR will be much better than what I am reporting below.

Financial Summary

• Amount Spent: $267.524 ($255 on two plots + 10K DEC for power cores + 3375 DEC to complete construction of land plots)
• Amount Recouped: $1.06 (47.287 SPS after tax)
• Payback Period: 10.91 years (calculated based on an SPS harvest rate of 3 per day and an assumed SPS price of $0.0224)
• APR: 12.27% (calculated based on an SPS harvest rate of 3 per day and an assumed SPS price of $0.0224)

(in the last report I was incorrectly calculating Payback Period and APR - these are now corrected).

Bitcoins' fluctuating price has had an impact on splinterlands tokens leading to a 20% decrease in SPS over the two weeks. DEC has maintained a range of $0.91 to $1 per 1k DEC. Interestingly Vouchers experienced an increase of one cent, driven by their newfound utility for in purchasing Mage wagons related to Conflicts. This shift raises the question; could Vouchers be an asset in the tokenomics of splinterlands?

The Runi fund received an injection of 8463 DEC pushing its value back above the $430 threshold (443k DEC). To reach the $500 milestone the fund is well-positioned for negotiations on Opensea and Discord. However, it's important to consider bidding on staked Runis as emphasized in a thought-provoking tweet, by @Goldmatters.

Despite the crypto market's turbulence, the floor price of Runi NFTs remains stable at 0.25 ETH ($556.60). Also, sales activity has been resurgent with a volume of $8400 the past week. Runi NFTs have been trading within a range of 0.1913 ETH ($479.12) to 0.2890 ETH ($719.75). It's worth noting that sales below the $500 mark, which indicates I may be able to do a Runi deal in and around $500. The fact remains that the Runi NFTs market remains stable amidst market fluctuations reaffirms as an asset I would like to own.
