The Blue Angels in Chicago

Officially, they're the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron. But everyone knows them as the Blue Angels

My kids were in Wisconsin this weekend to celebrate my birthday with me, but they left early enough on Sunday to get home in time to get a few photos taken from their balcony of planes in the air during the Chicago Air and Water Show.

A new documentary “The Blue Angels” is streaming exclusively on Prime Video, Amazon's streaming service. Reviews are pretty good, but I haven't watched it yet.

The average annual pay for a Blue Angel Pilot is $130,916 a year. I think they would have to pay me more than that to do what these guys do!

The US Navy has been flying these: F/A-18E Super Hornets from 2020 until the present.

I would accept that payment, if I even knew how to turn on one of those planes. Nice pictures. 😅

Learning to fly has never been on my wish list of things to do. I admire the folks who know how!

I have seen them several times . They put on a great show but this year we have the "Thunderbirds" at our Air Show which is now 10 days away.

You would think being an Air Force Veteran I would like the Thunderbirds more but I think the Blue Angels edge them a tad, haha. Anyways I look forward to all the air displays that happen during a particular air show like I do every year when I make an appearance:-)

Lovely fighter jets.
I have never seen one in a close range just yet, but I guess there will be an airshow in the coming days here in my island, need to see for the timing again, hopefully I can get the photos of the jets just like the one yu have here. : )

Hope you get to see the airshow. They move so fast that getting clear shots can be difficult!

We have seen such synchronized flight demonstration on videos only. I guess enjoying live from the balcony is more exciting!

Thanks for sharing those beautiful photographs!

It is amazing to watch them fly. And a bit terrifying, too!

You have to have nerves of steel to do that. Flying in formation that closely there is no room for error. It's amazing whet they can do, but you have to be a little bit crazy to want to do that!

This is an amazing show and I would really love watching it upclose. You are right! With the kind of stunts they are pulling, they should be paid way more than that.
