Before sunrise

The Chicago Lakefront Trail is a 18.5-mile-long (29.8 km) partial shared-use path for walking, jogging, skateboarding, and cycling, located along the western shore of Lake Michigan in Chicago, Illinois.
Wikipedia

. On busy summer days 70,000 people use the trail.

My kids live near the trail and my son uses it to commute on his e-scooter each day to his office downtown in the Loop and has opportunities for some great photos.

My daughter-in-law goes for early morning walks along the lakeshore and often takes sunrise photos for our family photo albums. These images all belong to her and she shares them here with us.

These photos were taken before the sun came up and edited in Lightroom to add color and interest to what were dark images.

This photo was taken just before the sun made it's appearance on the horizon.

Enjoy every morning!

Looks nice before the crowds show up too 🙂 awesome to capture some peace and nature right on the edge of the city.

Jeff goes to work at sunrise to avoid the crowds, but he says coming home at 4pm is hazardous. Rush hour on the trail. 🙂

That's a lot of crowd on the rush hour. It's such a beautiful trail, though.

Sunrise is always a beautiful and memorable event, it is beautiful that path that your daughter-in-law walks, it sure revitalizes her and she feels full of energy to start the day.

Greetings.

The sky often has very interesting colors at different times of the day. In the tropics, we tend to have more reddish tones, such as those shared by a friend in the post: https://ecency.com/hive-132248/@emiliorios/en-un-domingo-de-playa-calor-y-cielos-irrepetibles-a-orillas-del-lago-de-maracaibo-esen

Unbelievably beautiful predawn photos. Just enough light from the rising sun to give a very interesting hue to the photos. Almost magical. I haven't seen Chicago from this angle. It's normally portrayed as a very built up city in movies etc.

it's incredible how the media can be misleading. Seeing it on TV and actually being there are two very different things. That's why it's so important to travel <3

absolutely. I must dig around for my photos of Edinburgh. We stayed in the old town. The experience was .. indescribable.. and very difficult to capture with words or photos, but I tried!
