Election Time and I got Meta Verified!

Election Time!

Gooood day InLeo I hope you have all been well, I have been a bit quite lately mainly because of some down time due to InLeo not working and I have been focusing on supporting my partner with her re-election campaign.

For those that don't know my partner and I over the years have focused on community support my wife getting into nursing and me into community development focusing on tackling working class issues. It hasn't always been an easy battle as changing system's is not easy and comes with heavy resistance from those in power.

But along the way we have quite a lot of community wins and it can be measured with the reform and change we do.

We also both get involved in politics and most recently I moved a motion on the Labor state Conference to increase the age of responsibility to 12 as there have been increase situations where kids are being jailed. Now this excludes serious crimes but when we assessed what kids were being jailed for, it was mainly issues relating to low socioeconomic reasons and often from disadvantaged communities.

We did initially have it split into two 10 to 12 than 12 to 14 but the 12 to 14 has recently been revoked but we won't stop fighting. Kids need to be in school, supports and services not succumb to the justice system which will just breed more hardened criminals. A life is a life and it shouldn't be wasted.

But let's get back to my wife, she has been doing well in her first term despite being subjected to some serious stuff which we won't discuss too much as it is currently under investigation, politics can be rough especially in working class suburbs where passions, opinions and views often collide.

But it hasn't stopped her from being able to deliver for the community and she has been a community favourite amongst voters. As her first term comes to an end she is gearing up to make change in a new ward where many are impacted by a lack of public transport, inferior roads and a feeling of being left behind.

Things have already gone to blows with many of the other candidates but the core thing is to just remain calm and focus on why you're there, for the community.

In other super exciting news, FB has deemed me a public person and I got my blue tick which has lifted my emotions pretty high to be honest. After over a decade of successful advocacy I have been able to make a difference.

No doubt I have had a lot of people mention me in chambers and in public so there would be thousands of incidents if not millions of my name being mentioned in places I have NFI where. It just shows we are on the right track fighting for people!

Anyway, stay tuned as I will provide you all some updates on the campaign trail as it happens!
