Ecency Decks: ALL OF HIVE IN ONE PLACE
Ecency Decks: ALL OF HIVE IN ONE PLACE
Hive has become a popular Web 3 Decentralised platform commencing it's life as purely a web 3 blogging site expanding into social media platform with a global reach and continuing to grow into financial news as seen with one of my favorite Leo Finance. Whilst also including a Decentralised Exchange (DEX), Podcasts, Games and much much more.
The continued growth of the Hive community has spurred ongoing development to meet the demand of it's ever changing community. This has seen many new user front ends developed and the Hive ecosystem expand beyond anyone first envisioned.
Many of us continue to engage and participate with each other and grow our networks from around the world, an opportunity that we would never have been provided had it not been for the fantastic work of the many community leaders in this space.
As the community continues to grow more needs are identified and if you have been a user of Hive since inception you might find yourself in a spot of bother in relation to being able to keep track of everything and everyone. However, @ecency latest development looks to incorporate what can only be explained as a web 3 community Bridge, Decks and Waves.
Decks and Waves
Recently announced as the latest development from Ecency which has grown in popularity through the use of earning points rather than a community token. This community token can be utilised to call in a voting bot on your own posts, that of other authors or supportive comments. Various other options are available such as promoting a post across all communities and on everyone's wall similarly to an ad.
A great way to reach more people especially if you have important announcements or breaking stories you want people to read which I myself have utilised in the passed.
@leofinance took the Hive community by storm when it decided to take Twitter head on by developing it's own shortform content. Something that was previously not supported by the broader community for the potential of people to vote farm. Shifting the micro blogging from single posts to comments seems to have alleviated this concern while also provided a marketable aspect to attract new users to the ecosystem.
Ecency Wave
Now joining Leo Alpha is Ecency Waves where you can create micro content to share with others in an easy and straight forward way. I was going to put together a tutorial but I found Tribaldex's explainer Ecency Waves - How to Find and Use which goes into a quick and easy way on how you can set up waves, add multiple dashboards and start engaging.
The other amazing addition is Decks which I can see becoming something highly used on Hive as it brings all of Hive into one easy to use and navigate dashboard.
The best thing about it is that it is easily customizable so you can add and remove things you do and don't want to see. It isn't limited to just posts either as you can add your wallet (or someone else's) communities or what ever else you want to follow.
One of my favorite features is that you can even add users which is great, if like me you find yourself missing some of your favorite authors posts you can make sure that never happens again. Here's looking at you @trumpman now I will be watching you, and your wallet! ;)
Decks overview
As you can see the columns are easily situated on the desk top screen in a vertical manner with the addition to continue adding more, while I don't have much criticism as yet because I have only just started using Decks there is one thing that already sticks out which will need to be addressed.
There is no scroll bar at the bottom of the screen to scroll along to the next column and to do this I need to click a blank space in one of the decks and than use my right and left arrows to travel around the Decks. This is a little annoying but nothing I can't put up with until it is resolved in future updates.
Again though, I like the fact that there are no algorithms applied that track my online usage which can also be a negative at times but Ecency has addressed this with Decks. You can add a column for specific topics and it will show you all the posts that match your search. I think this is a really great way of ensuring you're across topics you want to be and avoiding intrusive tracking from AI bots that often get it wrong or harass you with things you only searched for once.
Anyway it looks like @good-karma and the team have once again out done themselves. I am starting a wave which, you may have already seen by the
time you read this post. My theme in the spirit of ongoing advancements on Hive will be, what you do to bring about change?

I was wondering how to slide <--->. Thanks for writing this and I too look forward to that scroll bar. 😁😁
Yup, will need more fixes no doubt. It is only new so in time I'm guessing it will get better
Nice post man! Just a quick tip, threads done from decks will not earn $LEO because they are not sent through the Leo app on the backend.
@anomadsoul I still use threads UI and prefer writing for communities in their front ends but the Leo UI still crashes for me when writing a post.

Yeah there are still some bugs. I think the best thing of Hive is that it has dapps built for specific use cases and activities and that's the great thing of the community, one user can use whatever they want to do whatever they want!
Devs are aware that a scroll bar is needed. Coming soon!
Thanks for your great review! ❤️
Awesome news! Well done to all involved in establishing and growing a great community
I responded in Discord about writing a Wave.
