This world is full of natural beauty and this beauty is often hidden in small plants. A well-known but immense example of beauty around us is this small pink flowered tree known as Lajyavati tree. And because of this feature it has created a special attraction. The flowers of Lajabati plant are small round and pink in color. Its flower structure is like a ball with small needle petals in the middle. A piece of pink-tinged tree is also attractive with leaves that are very small and arranged in pairs on the trunk with small spines that protect it and differentiate it from other trees.
The most interesting feature of the Lajyavati tree is its ability to shrink. Whenever someone touches its leaves or lightly pushes them, the leaves shrink and fall towards the ground. After a while, they return to their normal state. Scientists call the Lajjavati plant a 'sensitive' plant because of this feature. This shrinking process is actually caused by changes in pressure inside the plant, which is associated with the movement of water and other substances. Its roots and leaves are especially used as antiseptics and are used to treat stomach ailments or skin diseases, and it is also used to reduce inflammation in bilious and respiratory problems.
This plant is readily available in various parts of South Asia including Bangladesh. It mainly grows in tropical regions where there is sufficient sunlight and humidity. It is easily seen in fallow land or under other trees along village roads. The shy plant can be a wonderful subject for photography. Capturing the beauty of its sensitive response and pink flowers on camera requires patience and choosing the right angle. Capturing the moment when the leaves shrink on camera can be a challenging task for a photographer, but the unique characteristics of this small plant.
