Greetings Hivers. Today I join the Weekend-Engagement: Week 229, in the initiative promoted by @galenkp, choosing the topic about:

How do you handle workplace conflict?

And here from my workplace I share my opinion on this topic of great interest.

The coexistence between people who are not united by any kind of blood bond, and/or affection, is difficult, especially in a work environment where competition, ranks, and the desire to be recognised as the best prevails.

I am an engineer, I have been working in my area for 20 years now, it has not been an easy road, but with the experience I have, I can share with you how I have survived the conflicts in my area of work, which have been infinite, from personal to work-related.

As I have had to work both in the field and in the office, the experience with conflicts has been stronger in the office, it is much better to work in the field, in the areas, since everything is more dynamic, we are more active, there is no time for leisure, our hours of rest we occupy them in communicating with our families, and in resting, to then do our guard.

On the other hand, in the office, everyone wants to give their opinion, to impose themselves, the difference in characters, not listening, always wanting to be right, are the work conflicts that have been the strongest that I have faced, it is nothing to do with the technical, but rather with human behaviour.

How have I acted in the face of this? I was more intense, when I saw the injustices, or the lack of ethics in decision making if that filled me with anger, and more for the guidelines that govern the country where I live, where unfortunately do not occupy leadership positions trained people, but those who are the political team of the government in turn and this causes a lot of anger, because you have to do as they say even if it is not the right thing to do, and this kind of problem happens a lot in the work environment, but what have I done, I leave everything in writing, I work as indicated in the engineering procedures, and if the superior does not agree, I feel in writing my deviation around the request of the superior, freeing me from any blame, in case of failure this supports me.

We must be first and foremost professional, and anything that is not within the guidelines should be written down as a note to back us up in case of failure, especially if we are directly responsible.
