Strategizing On Reward Chests

I am probably one of the few that have been saving up my potions as of late. I have a few thousand of both legendary and alchemy potions I have yet to use. Now I am thinking of using them for better odds of earning higher value Soul Bound cards.

At the beginning of January 2023 the introduction of Soul Bound reward cards also came with the revival of potions use with reward chests. This meant each card pulled in a chest had a potential of increasing better odds to be either legendary or gold foil. Of course the more chest used the more potions are required.

I have been noticing lately I have consistently been opening about 9 reward chests a day. Although these are silver the quantities of cards pull have been reasonable, about three to six chests, a day.

Looking at all the different leagues it appears better odds of higher ranking cards occur at top leagues. Therefore when I apply potions to gold league reward chests there is likelihood I pull even better cards than if I had used the potions on silver league. This increases even further if I went with diamond reward chests instead of gold.

This leads me to plan on trying to reach diamond league near the end of the season in hopes of pulling some diamond reward chests. The quantity of chests will lessen as I the league increases but the ROI for use of potions also increases.

For those unaware one can turn on or off the use of potions in reward chests simply through in game settings.

As of now I have disabled my use of potions considering I only pull in silver chests. By end of next season I hope to at minimum be yielding some diamond reward chests which I would prefer to apply potions towards. In the mean time I continue to stack potions as there is also the potion use in future new sets such as Rebellions.
