Splinterlands - Soul Strangler Share My Weekly Battle
When it comes to range monsters in death splinter I tend to go to Twisted Jester or Octopider.
Still with Soul Strangler coming out I had to add it to my collection.
A level 2 so not deeply invested in the card but I at least had it more than just a ghost card.
My Battle
In this battle the rule sets were armored up and holy protection with a high mana of 56. With that I knew I had to put in high mana monsters.
My formation starts off with Harklaw followed by Phantom Soldier, Octopider, Dark Ha'on, Sand Worm, and ending with Soul Strangler. For my opponent starts off with Cursed Windeku followed by Djinn Muirat, Void Dragon, Chaos Dragon, Magi Necrosi and end with Dhampir Stalker.
A quick comparison between formations at first glance is that my formation was mostly melee but mixed in with one magic and a couple of range monsters. On the other hand my opponent had mostly magic and range attacks.
Round 1
At the end of round 1 all monsters were still alive and in decent shape mainly due to holy protection reducing damage on both sides.
Round 2
My Soul Strangler was immediately killed in the beginning of the round but my formation knocked out their Cursed Windeku.
Round 3
At the end of round 3 my Dark Ha'on is knocked out while my opponent knocks out Dhampir Stalker. Now we are four versus four but worth noting my Worm has the lowest health at four.
Round 4
After four rounds its still four against four but surprisingly my opponent's Djinn Muirat is close to being knocked out.
Round 5
Now at end of five rounds its four against three with me being ahead. However I need to be careful here as my lead monster and rear monster is lowering in health.
Round 6
By end of round 6 it is now four against two. This is the part where I know I have a lead and can potentially finish the fight swiftly. My Harklaw is basically a solid tanker as it has stayed alive up to now and still standing.
Round 7
Now near the end of the fight its four against one. My formation was able to take out one monster at a time up to now only four against one.
Round 8
It ends up being a pretty good ending here as my Harklaw finally gets knocked out but my opponent had no monsters left.
Conclusions
This battle really did not advertise the Soul Strangler that well however it proves that death range monsters indeed are good to use in battles. This is because my Octopider did its job to helping knock out my opponent's monsters one by one in each round.
High mana battles can drag on quite a bit due to the higher stats monsters like in this battle. It was clear why my Soul Strangler was knocked out early because of a low mana associated with low stats it could not handle higher stats monsters.
Until next time thanks for reading!!!
