Splinterlands - My Experience with Gargoya Scrapper (Weekly Post)
For me any card that has 0 or 1 mana takes a worth looking at. Gargoya Scrapper being 1 mana is worth looking at. Although nothing stands out from it still has void at basic level 1 and an attack.
Choices for 0 or 1 mana life cards are similar in quantities and rarities to the other splinters so nothing that stands out. Gargoya is just the latest 1 mana installment.
Still I used the card in a specific rule set "Equalizer" and it turned out a wise decision to play Gargoya Scrapper.
Formations
A low mana match at 13. This is very low considering I only encountered 12 mana maybe once in one hundred fights so at 13 its pretty much near the bottom of the pile. In conjunction the rule sets were Equalizer and Lost Legendaries.
I focus on all the low mana monsters I have and lead off with Gargoya follow up by Ooze, Furious Chicken, Defender of Truth, Divine Healer, and closing out with Silvershield Bard. I basically used up all 13 mana in the formation.
My opponent went with a level 6 Inferno summoner and monsters such as Exploding Dwarf, Uraeus, and ending with Battering Ram. A aggressive move to lead off with Dwarf but I kind of expected something with low health being played considering Equalizer.
The initial analysis of the two formations I am handicap with a level 3 rare summoner while my opponent had a level 6. This shows as Dwarf came out at level 8 while Uraeus at level 5. Meanwhile no monster on my end exceeded level 4 and my epic was limited to level 2. Definitely stats wise it appeared I was limited. The only advantage I had was quantities of cards in formation at 6 versus 3.
Round 1
At the end of round 1 we traded off blows and knock outs. Not surprising my Gargoya immediately got knocked out on first attack of Dwarf. The Equalizer meant health of 4 for all monsters but 4 is low relative to what it could have been if one monster on either side of the field had been a higher mana monster.
The health 4 actually turned out to be in my favor as by the end of round 1 my opponent's Dwarf was also knocked out.
Round 2
By the end of round 2 it was four on two with me being in the lead. I did lose Ooze but was able to reduce Uraeus down to a health of one. It would not take long to finish the remaining monsters.
Round 3
Furious Chicken down to health of one and Uraeus out of the picture at the end of round three I would consider that a big success. In addition the Ram was down to two health.
Round 4
One hit from Defender to start round 4 ended the match and I have become victorious. The key to this match was really my Defender having a magic of 2 and my Divine Healer for supporting the team with heal and having a magic of 1.
Conclusions
Low mana count matches I would lean more towards zero and one mana monsters. Today I had the life splinter for focus so was focus on using life monsters to win bought. It was a good decision in this battle.
The take away here though is Gargoya was used as a tanker and although it did not appear to be a good one it was good enough as it withstood my opponent's strong Dwarf. Had they used something with trample we maybe in it for a different story.
On the cards that was able to bring me the win was my middle formation in Defender of Truth and Divine Healer. Truth was the big attacker even though it only did 2 magic it accumulated. Meanwhile Divine Healer supplemented with 1 magic but tank heal.
This was all possible with three tank monsters I put in front of Truth and Healer.
Sometimes low mana matches are not that fun to play since there is a limit in monsters to use. However I feel it is easier than high mana matches since monsters of choice are limited I can predict better as to what my opponent would use and be able to counter.
In this battle I had everything countered. From Equalizer forcing a limit amount of health of 4. Then a combination of magic monsters on my end to inflict direct damage to my opponent's monsters. I even had Bard to cleanse any poison that Uraeus could inflict.
Until next time thanks for reading!!!

Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation.
