Splinterlands - How To Plans On Top 100 In Silver League?

Last season I had great experience in the silver league but got greedy thinking I would be able to perform the same in gold league but ended up only barely ranking in top 1000. Now with the new season rolling for a few days I have done pretty well in silver league. Now I am pondering my chances of getting in the top 100 and maybe even end up earning end of season DEC. Yet what would I have to do in order to get there? In this post I discuss the specific cards needed to get into the top 100.

Silver League Level Caps

In order to look at what cards would be needed to get to top 100 in the silver league the first thing we should know is the levels caps in silver. For silver the rarity caps are 5 for common, 4 for rare, 3 for epic, and 2 for legend.

The caps really limit the cards' abilities in silver league and by far capping my usage of my max level cards. I did not plan well with purchasing max level cards but only using them in silver league. One way I can work around this is to sell my max level and purchase level cards capped in silver. Another option is to rent out my max level cards while purchase lower level cards, for now will have make due with using my max level cards in silver league.

Cards Ideal In Silver League

With the use of Splintermate.com I filter out the wild silver league and most used summoners. Kelya Frendul is at the top most used and this maybe a reason why I can not get near top 100 in the league since I do not have higher than a level 1 Kelya.

Not surprising the top 5 summoners are the Chaos rares and rounding in 7th which I use often is Alric Stormbringer. I have a level 4 Alric so in silver league I basically have maximize by potential use of the summoner.

What surprised me from the most used summoners is that Zaku is not in the top 10. Although the list is based on the past 11k battles it could mean that players who do use Zaku often and play in silver may not have partake in battles as much yet.

Out of a little over 11k matches in the silver league only 9 of them had Zaku played, which I find very hard to believe.

Scanning through some of the top matches in silver league it is clear Zaku performs well. For those not aware this is one of the highest performance summoners in the game. In silver league it is capped at level 2 because it is a legend. This got me thinking if it would be a reasonable investment to purchase a level 2 Zaku.

It would cost around $800 to get a 3 bcx Zaku which is not too far from my reach. Then there are monsters to think about.

Monsters in Silver League

I am a little surprised Furious Chicken tops the spot but understanding considering zero mana and neutral so it is easy to put into battles. The remaining top 10 are mostly Chaos cards or reward cards within the Chaos era.

If I focus on fire monsters alone since Zaku is fire splinter:

It is only until 8th is there a range monster in Lava Launcher. This would be beneficial to have range monsters when using Zaku but it is not a huge problem as Zaku still works on all monsters with Blast. The high melee monsters will still inflict decent damage.

Conclusions

Why Zaku you wondering? At Gold and upper leagues the summoner is used often and by far one of the best summoners in the game currently. That is why the card has a high price to it but considering where I am in silver league and how I am currently ranked it maybe worth wild to owning at least a level 2 Zaku in hopes of me pulling into top 100.

I actually have a reasonable amount of fire splinter monsters but with yet to own one legendary summoner it maybe time to purchase one and why not the best?

I have noticed you get rewards for top finishes. I checked and I was ranked in the thousands. Even though the difference was only marginal between the ranked no 1. But I know it's a big ask, you would have to win consecutively to even get in the top 20. I think you get 4000 Dec tokens for the winner !

The rank points for top players literally single digit separation. Definitely neck and neck so it’s very doable. !WINE !LOL

Yodin is indeed overpowered for silver league. For people like me who can't afford a Yodin, Kelya is a good alternative. I have posts here about Water teams and lists for building maxed silver teams. For $800 you can already build a maxed deck of all Chaos Legion splinters to compete in Modern silver and gold leagues. 😀

You are right but I was looking toward top players and what worked in past seasons. I too feel getting a set of cards is better than Zaku alone. !LOL !PIZZA

Zaku is strong but mine is only level 1 so I am capped at the monsters I use. However, even then, it's possible to win quite a few matches despite the level advantage. All of Yodin's stats are amazing and they really work quite well. I do think Keyla is a bit overpowered and I really need to get a copy of that for myself as mine is only level 2.
