Splinterlands - Brawl Rewards Time Decay

A lot of brawls have been played out over the year and with the update in SPS rewards in brawls we will soon be reaching to a point where the SPS distribution starts shrinking.

Brawl Tiers

From the lowest tier of one star to the highest tier at five stars the rise in SPS rewards is a factor of 5% starting at 10% of the entire pool. The steady increase in SPS per % pool ends at 30% for five star brawl tier. In terms of SPS its currently at 40k SPS for one star brawl tier and up to 120k SPS for five star brawl tier.

1% Decay per Month

Starting middle of April will be the fifth month since SPS rewards distribution in brawls be dropped. This means a reduction of 5% in SPS rewards from 4/14. The decay of 1% in SPS rewards per month in brawls is expected to last for 65 months, or close to five years.

Play Brawls Sooner Than Later

For those still on the fence in regards to playing brawls I want to be clear there are guilds out there that will accept members for free. Of course the guilds that are for free will likely not be high in tier therefore low in rewards. What is beneficial is that players will potentially earn more now than playing brawls later down the road. In conclusion personally recommend you join a guild.

We are way into year 2 of the SPS distribution and there remains a decent amount to be distributed overall. A snapshot of the numbers in SPS distribution in the next few years:

SPS Distribution Status To Date

Over on Splintercards.com one can quickly see the SPS distribution being updated daily. As of now most of the printed SPS in circulation has been staked. While a small fraction of SPS is in DAOs or has been burned.

The game recently had over 1 billion of SPS in circulation. There remains a little under 4 billion that remains to be printed and distributed. In the coming months more and more SPS gets rewards which in turn makes less SPS rewards distributed.

Bottom line is stay active playing Splinterlands today to earn more SPS will reap in the rewards now and likely harder to get down the road in the future.
