Splinterlands - Am I Playing Against Bots?
I been in Gold III/II league for the past week or so and recently have been facing some opponents that have the same first name. This "MILLER" has multiple accounts.
There were many more other "MILLER" accounts I had faced. In the beginning I was losing these accounts but did not take too long to learn the patterns of monsters selected and I gained the upper hand to win more often than not.
My Opinions On Bots
Splinterlands developers have said multiple times that bots are not banned in the game but it is watched over to make sure they would not take advantage to anything that would benefit bots over real players.
Over time I have gotten use to hearing about bots and having to seen some here and there when it came to playing rank battles. However recently just this season it appears I am facing more bots then ever. It is not necessarily a turn off but just knowing I am more likely playing against a bot than a real player is not as fun anymore.
The reality is people will get involved in the game when we all share experiences with each other. Playing with other fellow gamers brings interest and in turn money into buying assets. The demand will not be there if bots are cornering the markets. I hope this season for me is just a one off. I don't want to think that the current experience on Splinterlands is mostly me versus bots.
Until next time thanks for reading!!!

I have plenty of other cards for rent! Just go on peakmonsters and check out the market place and if you are curious what I offer here is a link:
I come across multiple bots all playing same time. It kept on the same tactics, cards were identical too. What a coincidence so I checked the history, it's was the same name followed by numbers. I got fed up so I waited a few minutes. But some of the cards you had to buy. This user willing to spend money to get lots of dq without having to play it, instead just use the bots !

Try to beat these bots best I can and hopefully who ever owns them will think twice before flooding with so many bot accounts.
There are just way too many bots to keep track of but they do provide quick matches. I don't really know what the time to match with players would be otherwise and for someone just focusing on finishing my quest, bots aren't that bad.

I’m just surprise I met so many in a daily quest that I thought to mention it.
I always said bots will be a hurdle for mass adaption. Weird Beard echoed many of the same concerns I said three years ago in the newest town hall.

Certainly gets tiring seeing them around a lot.
Thats a shitload amound of bots in the gold leagues. Sad to think they probally eat-up most of the rewards from that league pool.

Recently I saw a post with people selling bots. They framed it as bots are here to stay so the problem was just that everyone didn't have equal access to bots. Once everyone had a bot farming Splinterlands for "passive income" then it would be fair and we'd all be happy was more or less the sales pitch.
Many people in the comments saw this logic to be true.
I can't believe just how out of touch people can be. If no one is playing the game but bots, what gives the game assets any value? And if nothing is giving the game assets value, how is there passive income from winning them?
I'm tired of the devs protecting and even praising bots. They can't be that naive can they?

I can understand why Splinterlands wants to allow bots be used, want to be a fully decentralized game, but it appears bots are hurting the game than helping it.
I've heard them say before that if its decentralized they can't make the decision of who plays and who doesn't. I just think the idea of what rules you can and can't make as the head of decentralized organization are pretty weird and often come down to a matter of convenience and comfort.
Also, when they're out there saying bots add to the economy if they spend some on rentals, it shows they either have a disconnect in their understanding of what bots do or they aren't being honest.
I do see the benefit to the bots that are currently in the system in being able to play a quick game without waiting for a match and in the fact that the economy has been built around them so right now they need to be there but especially as we get to a point of doubling rewards pools with the new modern/wild, I think it's really important that they put a limit on new bots coming in.
Let the old ones here stay. They didn't break any rules when they set up but thats it. Everyone who joins this game from here on out are humans, not calculating profit vacuums that leave people unfulfilled when they play against 5 in a row.
I wrote about the bot license idea a while ago. I still think its a good one. !LOL

Nice inputs you have. A bot license actually seems like a great idea. Splinterlands can limit and increase the amount of licenses the see fit.
