My plans after latest TownHall?
Yesterday a lot of updates were mentioned regarding the games battle rank rewards. What I felt came out of it was I needed to play more and accumulate what days left we had remaining to earn current Soulbound reward cards.
New Rewards Point System
What sounded like end of February was a revise way for players to earn rewards. All players would earn points and can exchange it for rewards. From this I am interpreting that the current reward chests that includes soul bound cards are no longer going to be available.
This limited time left in earning rewards cards is motivating me to play more. I do not expect there will be a favorable market come selling of soul bound cards as there seem to be plans to allow players to burn cards for reward points or use of cards in land plots at attractive DEC prices. It all means to me less soul bound cards likely to be in the open market once they cease printing and are open for public circulation.
Sale of Soul Keep
In another part of the Town Hall news about the side game Soul Keep has shacking the Splinterlands community. The game got sold so that a third party can continue advancing the game.
What remains of the existing Nightmare packs that were not sold remains unknown but present packs are in greater demand as prices have rose rapidly in the past 24 hours. It seems to me that I will be holding the packs a bit longer in waiting for what potentially can be another excellent game within the Splinterlands community.
Cards Demand?
From the Town Hall I got plenty of impressions that developers wanted players to continue buying cards and leveling up. The prices of cards have fallen since land 1.5 was released. With rollout of 2.0 coming and new rewards point system the way we battle seems to be closer to free fall all.
This means players with max level cards will have better opportunities than the less fortunate. However I don’t know how much this will work as I remember many years ago when players played each other without level caps the results were not ideal. Players with more abilities simply stop smaller players from advancing. This did not attract players to play the game long term.
There is a fine line to play with in attracting new players while retaining same value or more in assets. The major problem I see is that when asset prices are too high players won’t buy in because of risking their investments. On the flip side to cheap in prices makes players who have been with the franchise frustrated as they don’t see the potential gains from holding long term.
I personally will continue accumulating cards as I still enjoy playing the game. However in the upcoming rewards updates and Soul Keep and Land updates although looks promising it remains to be a risky bet to make. I would not put my eggs all in one basket as prices may continue to fall.
I will be holding some Hive and Wax that I have been for years but earning passive income. A small diversification but overall I still have majority of my assets in Splinterlands cards.
Until next time thanks for reading!!!
I have plenty of other cards for rent! Just go on peakmonsters and check out the market place and if you are curious what I offer here is a link:

A lot of changes are definitely going to be happening and it makes me wonder how things will play out for me. I do hope that the changes are beneficial to me though because a lot of my power is in untamed so I think it should help me in modern.
Same hoping for the best with these upcoming new updates.
Your plan sound great to execute
I will make some adjustment to my own plan.
Thank you
