Market Prices of Cards April 2024
With all the updating in user interface to in game rewards it would seem that the Splinterland’s ecosystem would be rejuvenated with interest. Yet card prices are saying otherwise.
As of now estimate for a full Chaos max level regular set would round around $1,000. This is near all time lows.
If we look back at other legacy sets like the untamed there is a common theme.
Older card values are falling and are near historic lows relative to its peaks. On a small silver lining the prices are no where near as low as it was prior to 2020. Still for majority of Splinterland’s existence most players who join had join in a period of trending down in prices.
Without land 2.0 I can understand the less demand in legacy cards. In addition the limited sets allow to be played in modern are forcing long term holders to witness a lot of value decay in their old cards. There just is not enough utilities in older cards to sustain their values.
Another small bright spot is that newest set has held up pretty well such as Rebellion. Now close to a year since it’s introduction a max level regular set still stands at close to $6,500.
The price of DEC is off peg by more than 20%. This is also adding to the card price drops. The Splinterland’s tokens assets trending down overall is just not easy to get out.
For now I still have a couple of all rewards cards I want to max and no better time to do so than now.
Even a set of reward chaos is nearly par value to its burn rate! This is clear signs that prices are very deprecated and although it can go further down there should be a limit. That limit of course would be the burn rate of the card.

That's right, the price has gone down so much, people are very worried, especially after the new update, people's interest has waned.
The older cards have definitely dropped quite a bit in price. I think modern keeps demand for the ones in circulation but even Chaos Legion will drop off out of modern eventually. I might consider buying some reward cards near the DEC burn rate. I do have a few cards that I wouldn't mind upgraded.
