Close Matches

I have been looking back and many of my battles where I came up short of a win and realizing how close I was to winning. On the flip side there were matches I barely squeeze out the win. Often these close matches are dependent to a few things and those would be discussed in this post.

Miss attacks are the major culprit when I get loses. Sometimes just one miss makes all the difference as my opponent’s monster remains alive and attacks to excite their final kill hit. Other times it could simply be too many misses that no damage is ever inflicted making it better than thoroughness defense. There are strategies to increase misses such as raising monster speed or lower opponent monsters speed.

Another item that can make or break a close match is position of monsters. Often if I have stronger monsters in the front of the formation and they get knocked out too early the chances of me winning drops dramatically. While other times I put my strong monsters with weak defense in the rear and get sniped or sneaked attacked. The end result is also me losing my strongest attacking monsters and ending up losing the match. The advantage here is that bots know how to deploy the monsters in their specific location in formation. As a human player I simply have to think through at try to place my monsters in the most optimal locations possible. Sometimes I get the win just because I had the monsters in the right positions.

Finally the rule sets in matches is definitely something to always leverage in a battle. Using the rule set to my advantage gets me better chance of winning. In a way rule sets are the second summoner of the formation. Use it as part of selecting my formation is most of my priority. In cases where splinters are locked up then I may have no choice.
