Bass is one of the Major cassava species we have in Nigeria which has always been in existence for a couple of years or decades and I know to a very good and reasonable extent there are so many hybrids and improved varieties of this particular cassava stem. When we were very small the kind of cassava we have is very much different from this particular one or two we have this type too but not too common. I could remember my dad always emphasize that there is this particular cassava specie that is always use as pounded yam. It is not to come on like I said earlier so my dad brought it home and we pounded it with unripe plantain. The combination was very successful and the experience was great.

I went to a farm Malete where in kwara state and I saw a very good cassava Farm which is more than the year cultivation. The look is that two small as it is but when I was told the farming activities has been on for more than a year. I couldn't believe my eyes. What I would like to say who is that the cassava specie do not get to maturity stage real quick. It will take up to one and a half years or even close to two years before you can evict this unless it is an improved varieties. Which I prefer most.

The colour of this cassava specie is very outstanding simply because its grow up as a special colour outside the main green color which normal green plant posses.

When planting this kind of cassava specie you have to understand that you go for the hybrid or improve the writing of this particular cassava plant which is highly profitable in terms of commercial purposes. The only thing is just that the non-hybrid will take a very long period Of time before it reaches maturity stage. When you go for the hybrid it makes a very good canopy when you first of all weed the surrounding plant.

• The stem is also resistant to diseases have been in a farm whereby I saw much of this cassava specie and my question was that how the day try to manage this type of big farm without any loss due to rodents, insects, flies etc. The answer was that the farm was meant to be commercial farm and in this setting it is best to you a very good quality and productive plant seeds or stem in order to boost the farm activities and harvesting duration.

I will also love to go into this type of farming system when I secure a very good agricultural land and I'll be giving update on how it goes. It is always good to explore your environment, your state and country at-large then you know more about what you don't know.
