RE: The importance of books in my life (ESP/ENG)

I think the educational system we have today will only push people to the point where they hate reading books. And most stop doing so(reading books)after school because that was the reason why they were reading them in the first place.
I've once said to myself that reading is hard but recently after the pandemic I've been fascinated with the peace that comes with sitting alone in my room and enjoying a good book and not feeling lonely.
Books are a great way to educate oneself. But when its forced(like its done in schools today), it becomes a hell hole instead of a safe heaven we can run to when we want to escape from the troubles and pressure of the world.
Sadly I've been searching for more fictions in my city but cabt find any as most people (but really only few)only buy motivational and inspirational books and that what they sell. I've never read harry potter or most classics out there, only inspirational stuffs. But I hope to do that someday.
Nice post
Yes, I hope I can read Harry Potter or Narnia, I really fell in love with those books as soon as I read them. When you read something you like you feel a great pleasure and reading becomes a great source of inspiration, but if you read out of obligation it becomes hell, you don't want to look at a book and eventually you miss out on the fun or knowledge you could get later on. Schools should be more objective about that. Thank you very much for reading and commenting.
