How I sew gowns for my relatives (step by step process)
Hello Hivers!
It has been long I showed up in this platform. Here I come with full force to showcase some of my handwork which is sewing.
My cousin sister brought her practical for me to arrange for her, that is part of exam assessments although I was so occupied but I had no choice than to do it. Telling me that the wrapper is for the two of them, that is, my cousin and her friend - that I am sewing the same stye for them which is straight gown off shoulder.
Step 1:
I placed the wrapper on the floor and cut the skirt part. Firstly you use your tape and measure the underburst not waist because you are sewing gown not skirt and blouse. Then you measure your hips and draw your line with chalk and use your scissors to cut.
Step 2 :
I placed the wrapper on the floor. Sorry I was not having big table for it at that meeting moment so I improvised by cutting it on the floor. Firstly I folded the wrapper into four parts then I measured the shoulder. Thereafter, I measured the half length of the breast cut, then, I measured the dart which is three.
After that, you cut the upper one leaving the down one because is back side. After that you join them together and remove the shoulder just to make it easier for you. Then I placed it on my machine and join the breast part.
Step 3:
I joined and sewed the skirt part, and draw the shape size of the body.
My cousin sister's underburst is 27, hips is 34, while her friend's underburst is 29, hips 36.
Step 4:
Finally, as
I joined the half-length,I draw the body size shape one is 33 while the other 35. Then I placed it on the machine and sew it. That's how we got our short gown.
That is all for now.
Thank you for stopping by.
That looks awesome, great work!
Thank you so much 🤗
