The Art of Saying No: Yes to your own priorities

Most times saying no can be one of the most hardest, challenging yet empowering words in our day to day life.In today's world, where the world has turned into a people-pleasing world, it's easy to get lost and get caught up in the desire and pursue to accommodate everyone's ideas,needs,opinion,say... but our own. However, learning the art of saying no is important as well as it is crucial for maintaining healthy relationships, prioritizing self-care, and achieving self growth.

Saying no is not about being negative or uncooperative,it's about being intentional and being self-aware.
Mastering the art of saying no helps in
-setting boundaries: establish clear limits, and prioritizing emotional well-being.
-by saying no, you nurture your emotional, physical well being.
-saying no brings about respect and trust

(A healthy way of saying no,"I respect your view and opinion, but I'm not comfortable with it,let's find another solution.")

And in saying no,(as the example above) Use clear tone, acknowledge request, opinion, ideas, show appreciation.
In saying no,you owe absolutely no one an epistle of explanations.
Make sure to be the type who stands firm with his/her words/decisions.

(During my final year, while I was in the middle of my project,a lecturer who was helping secured a new job and traveled, it was very challenging, as I was just about to start the real work, just got my questionnaires and all,how do I go about it, my supervisor is a busy type, coupled with the fact that he was the head of department.
My friends suggested we give it out to people, cafe to help do and pay them,we just rest and collect it from them when they are done, I decided not to,my reason being that, I actually want to know how projects are being done, especially the coding's,analysis and all...ohh no,am a final year student and should at least have a little knowledge about it,I found a means to tell my supervisor, he was surprised, he was like, are you really ready to go through the stress and all...I said yes.
And at the end of the day, what I defended for my project, ohhh no,I was glad I did amazingly great, other supervisors couldn't question me on something's on the day of defense cause they saw the way I tried my best in doing it and even for the corrections they made,it was done lovingly unlike others whom they called out publicly and talked harshly to them since they didn't even know the genesis nor the revelation of what they came rk defend since it was all done by a cafe man for them)

Recognize that saying no is not being selfish as some might take it to be, it is essential, vital and important.
Don't dictate, decide out of fear, calmly make your very own decision.
Dont be pressured to,think it through, if itis a no,then a no it is.

As I said earlier,Saying no is not about being negative or uncooperative,it's about being intentional, self-aware, and at the same time courageous knowing you can bear the weight and take responsibility no matter the outcome. As it would allow for growth, self-respect,boosting self confidence, unlocking potentials to mention but a few.

Yeah. Know your limits. It’s as simple as that. When you know what you can do and what you can take, you can say no to things that would drain you
