Pic1000 - Waiting For You (Poem)

avatar
(Edited)

The sky weeps, my heart bleeds,
I stand alone in these rain-soaked streets.
Looking at your window, with its light dim and weak,
And all I wish is for you to see.

That I'm sorry for the words that slipped,
Through my mouth and onto your heart they seeped.
Causing hurt and pain so deep,
Hoping you'll still love me as you did.

Drenched to my feet, waiting for you, my peace.
Hoping you'll peek and see how much you mean to me.
And for you to say these words at least,
'I forgive and still love you, Papi’

We sometimes say hurtful things when we are angry even though we don't mean them.

I do hope they work things out.

Thanks for sharing.

Words are the most dangerous weapons! Yet we often are not careful using them.

Very dangerous.
More reason we should be mindful of our words

Your poem reminds me of words once spoken that can't be retracted. Be forever mindful of what comes out of your mouths. Damaging and discouraging thoughts should never be heaped upon another, whether intentionally or not. The moment they are spoken, the person usually regrets it. Sometimes, it may be too late to mend the relationship.

Thanks for sharing these words. A thoughtful and inspiring read. Take care.

Words can do a lot of harm, so we should always be careful about what we say. Beautiful verses. Good luck in the contest @marriot5464 🤗!

Love is love but for now I would say stay a bit longer in the rain, soaked and with drenched feet.
