Strange Sleep Pattern

Today is the last day of the Christmas break. It's back school tomorrow. The other family members have been on holiday. I've worked on the weekdays and done some overtime on Friday, yesterday and today.

My current strange sleep pattern has been a benefit. I get up between 6-7 am, stay up until 6-7 pm, nap for 2-4 hours, then stay up for a few hours until I go to bed between 1-3 am. I've been sleeping a pretty normal total number of hours per day but only in two parts.

Getting up several hours before the rest of the family is great. It's so peaceful and quiet. I can get things done. I do the weekly cleaning and I've often cleaned the bathrooms when the others are at sleep because it can be done quietly.

There is some evidence that biphasic sleep used to be normal in the past.
