Cold Snap

This week has been unseasonably cold. Yesterday, the daily maximum was barely above freezing. Snow or sleet isn't totally unheard of even in early June, though. That happens maybe once in a decade. Sleet in early May is not that rare.

But I recall fully grown leaves a daily maximum temperatures reaching 25 C in late April. That happened in 2004. It goes to show how extremely variable weather can be in our neck of the woods in the spring.
