I join the discursive gathering, sharing with you my experiential considerations on the phrase written by Thucydides and that preludes this writing. Expression in which powerful and forceful words are submerged, representing a great complexity, because of what each one of them translates, together with what they enhance when grouped together.
I see and feel happiness as a labyrinth in a multiplicity of scenarios. Where its genesis involves a dynamic, unstable, and vacillating expression, which develops and transforms in unison, as my human nature does. It is exclusive of my contemplation, selfhood, and journey called life.
For me happiness is well-being, but this is not perennial, it is conditioned, it is circumstantial, it changes, it is modified, it is very different, it embraces itself by linking itself to time and to the now. Likewise, it transmutes and permutes. I have corroborated that what made me happy and gave me comfort some years ago, today does not generate the same state of satisfaction.
For its part, freedom, in its association with happiness, contributes to facilitating the state of well-being. I consider freedom as the capacity I have to follow my own logic without transgressing others, without breaking or violating otherness, and respecting their social space. Considering freedom as respect for the other, the question comes into play. Whose truth is it? Yours or mine? Because what may be respect for me is not respect for you.
I believe that, like happiness, freedom evolves, changes in its symbolism, and is remade, renewed, and reformed. It neither admits nor accepts absolutism. In fact, for me, it is freedom to accept that my ideas and purposes change. Freedom allows me to be a master of my rules, it is what gives me the necessary balance to feel in tune and in harmony with what I am and what I do.
In my reflections, I corroborate that I will never be totally free, because it is not possible to live absolutely in perfection. The situations of daily life can express or tacitly carry the turmoil that generates vulnerability and fragility. But for this, there will be courage as an antagonist. It will be the support to strengthen my decisions and choices.
Sometimes, insecurities have been the clandestine shadow that generates wrong decisions and behaviors, taking away my freedom due to a lack of courage. It is something that I try to correct and improve every day. Today I accept that being wrong is part of my life. But I work hard to reinforce the courage that favors satisfaction and liberation.
I frequently generate opportunities in the freedom of my thoughts and emotions, to accept that with the passing of the years, of the experiences I have lived and felt, I am no longer the same, nor do I want or desire the same. It is the necessary coherence to allow the changes, to understand that I can and must think differently, that I am not linear, and that I evolve, and with it, my meaning of happiness in freedom is modified.
I try daily to internalize that courage will always overcome insecurities. Uncertainties that will never disappear, on the contrary, will drive the action of being free to be happy, from my conceptualizations and assumptions. But for this, I must fortify and strengthen my courage, with audacity.
It is courage that reaffirms the focus of perspectives and representations. It is the one that makes it easier for me to visualize the content of the multiplicity of vagueness in which I travel in my journey, such as satisfaction and disappointment, success and failure, triumph or defeat. Nevertheless, in spite of this, it leads me to the necessary encounter to obtain freedom, bearing in mind that my decisions will not necessarily be forever.
Freedom is in me, it is in you. Freedom is being and showing what I really am. My freedom is not necessarily yours, but for me, it is my happiness and courage is my driving force.

Happiness is all this and it's safe to say that happiness is subjective... What makes you happy might not make me happy, so how exactly are we so sure that freedom makes everyone happy?

In this regard I think that, like happiness, the conceptualization of freedom is subjective and circumstantial. It is also changeable. I tell you an anecdote, dialoguing with a friend in a love relationship that for me in my view was extremely toxic, she said these words "Being tied to love makes me happy and I feel free." It is an example of your thoughtfulness.
