"WHY IS IT SO HARD TO MEDITATE?"
There are thousands of reasons why it is so difficult to meditate in some people who often complain, for example: some say that it is a nuisance, I do not have time, others that the mind does not let them, I get distracted easily, they do not see benefits, among many causes that they list. For me, to want is to be able to. And I will tell you my story in relation to this practice that I have been doing for more than twenty years and it has brought me a lot of well-being. I met this valuable tool through a friend, I was going through difficult times in my life, both health and coexistence, I had never put into practice this tool that I got to know and I loved it and it helped my physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Meditation is a practice of self-control where we calm the mind and body to achieve relaxation and therefore we must prepare ourselves consciously to put it into practice. I always practice this ancient practice and when I feel exhausted and stressed I resort to it to calm and relax my mind, body and spirit. Everyone meditates in a different way and they do it where they feel most comfortable. I have been practicing it for years and it really makes me feel good. The important thing about meditating is to learn to quiet the mind and that is achieved with practice. I like to meditate and concentrate on conscious breathing. When we achieve to stop thinking is when we achieve meditation.
Meditation is a valuable tool and the one who practices it is because he feels prepared to do it and feels the need to practice it. I have achieved many benefits since I practice it, I have a before and an after with it. Before I felt accelerated, anguished, my breathing was shortened, stress and emotions overwhelmed me. Until I got to know this technique through a friend. At the beginning I could not concentrate and put away my thoughts that were sabotaging. Little by little I became interested and learned to concentrate until I succeeded. I have been practicing meditation for more than twenty years and I find it wonderful. I am calmer, I have daily problems like everyone else and I try to solve them in a way that does not disturb me and alter my emotions. I like to recite mantras when I am meditating, one of the most I recite is OM. When I meditate in a group and the meditation is guided I love it when they play music that is special for meditation.
Personally, meditation has helped me a lot in terms of health, it has reduced the states of anxiety caused by thyroid problems that I have, I suffer from an autoimmune thyroiditis called Graves' Hyperthyroidism, where my life was a mess, I was irritated, crying, moody, etc. When I started practicing meditation I began to see very significant changes in me, my emotions began to be modified, stress levels began to be reduced, the welfare was incredible, I also added to this tool the practice of yoga, little by little the joint pain caused by the thyroid began to improve significantly. I am recovered in physical, mental and spiritual health with this miraculous practice.
If you want to start meditating it is very simple, at least start with 5 minutes a day little by little. Just plan the day and time you are going to start. It is important to be in a quiet place, it is very important to focus your attention on your breathing, you should wear comfortable clothes, and as the thoughts appear, accept them, go ahead and let them flow. You must maintain a correct posture, I like to meditate in various positions: in lotus flower, other times lying down, the important thing is to find a position where you feel more comfortable. Gradually increase the time to meditate.
