Red Shadow Wall | Digital Art

Hey happy friday my dear readers, how are you? how have you been this week, I hope it has been excellent, as many of you already know me, I'm Manuel and this is my art blog, the place where I like to share all my artistic creations and drawings of the day to day. This time I wanted to make a more portrait style illustration, one in which I could use a good range of reddish, brown tones that made good synergy and harmony with each other; basically what I came up with to represent this idea well was illustrating a woman as if she were a sweet princess in a great palace or castle during the dark and deep night, and although I knew it would be a little difficult to capture the shadows with reddish tones even so I tried doing my best, and I really liked the result and I hope you like the same:

Heyy feliz viernes mis queridos lectores y lectoras, como están? ¿cómo han pasado esta semana?, espero que excelente, como muchos ya me conocerán, yo soy Manuel y este es mi blog de arte, el lugar donde me gusta compartir todas mis creaciones artísticas y dibujos del día a día. En esta oportunidad quise realizar una ilustración mas a estilo retrato, una en la cual pudiese utilizar una buena gama de tonos rojizos, marrones que hicieran buena sinergia y armonía entre sí; básicamente lo que se me ocurrió para representar bien esta idea fue ilustrando a una mujer como si esta fuese una dulce princesa dentro de un gran palacio o castillo durante la oscura y profunda noche, y aunque sabia que sería un poco dificultoso plasmar las sombras con tonos rojizos aun así lo intente haciendo mi mejor esfuerzo, y me gusto mucho el resultado y espero que a ustedes igual:

PROCESS / PROCESO

When starting any illustration I like to take my time to find a good base structure of strokes, establishing the basic shape of the face, the eyes, and above all the pose that my character will have. I started with the base tones for the different areas of the woman's body using colors like intense pink, scarlet red, chocolate brown and several others; on the skin I applied pink as a base and for this I made use of my airbrush in the first stage of volume, then with watercolor I defined some intense shadows in the neck area, on the bust and also under the hair.

A la hora de empezar cualquier ilustración me gusta tomarme mi tiempo para buscar una buena estructura base de trazos, estableciendo la forma básica del rostro, los ojos, y sobre todo la pose que tendrá mi personaje. Empecé con los tonos base para las diferentes zonas del cuerpo de la mujer usando colores como el rosado intenso, el rojo escarlata, marrón chocolatoso y varios otros más; en el cao de la piel apliqué el rosado como base y para esto hice uso de mi pincel aerógrafo en la primera etapa de volumen, luego con acuarela definí algunas sombras intensas en la zona del cuello, en el busto y también debajo del cabello.

With blue tones I began to work the eyes of the woman, the first thing was to create the basic shape of the eyes with some grays around and right almost in the center I formed the iris and the pupil with about 3 blue tones, here I focused on detailing very well the inner part of both eyes, and then with a soft brush and white color I created the effect of glitter on the edges, and with a soft gray in the multiply layer mode I formed some shadows produced by the eyelids of the eyes. The painting of the hair was done with brown tones, here the first thing was to form the base structure of the hair with some volume in the back, sides and some hair around the eyes and cheeks, then give a final layer of texture with very thin strokes to give better realism to the hair.

Con tonos azules comencé a trabajar los ojos de la mujer, lo primero fue crear la forma básica de los ojos con algunos grises alrededor y justo casi en el centro forme el iris y la pupila con unos 3 tonos azules, aquí me enfoque en detallar muy bien la parte interna de ambos ojos, para luego con un pincel suave y el color blanco crear efecto de brillos en los bordes, y con un gris suave en el modo de capa multiplicar forme algunas sombras producidas por los parpados de los ojos. El pintado del cabello lo realice con tonos marrones, aquí lo primero fue formar la estructura base del pelo con cierto volumen en la parte de atrás, a los lados y algunos cabellos alrededor de los ojos y las mejillas, esto para después darle una última capa de textura con trazos muy finos que dieran mejor realismo al pelo.

In the case of the clothes I opted for a deep reddish attire, something like an elegant princess dress, for this I took a scarlet red as a base and with the watercolor brush I was forming the semi rough texture, especially in the arms and sleeves; then with a dark color I applied some shadows that gave a little more volume and shape to the dress, as well as some small lines of brightness in neck and bust. For the background, everything as if it were the interior of a palace or ancient castle, here I played first with light browns and then with some reds I was forming some walls and corridors just in the background, as well as I created some cracks in the walls and applied a large shadow on the upper right side of the canvas.

En el caso de la ropa opte por un atuendo de color rojizo intenso, algo así como un vestido elegante de princesa, para esto tome un rojo escarlata como base y con el pincel acuarela fui formando la textura semi rugosa, sobre todo en los brazos y las mangas; después con un color oscuro aplique algunas sombras que dieran un poco mas de volumen y forma al vestido, así como unas pequeñas líneas de brillo en cuello y busto. Para el fondo ambiente todo como si se tratase del interior de un palacio o castillo antiguo, aquí jugué primero con los marrones claros y luego con algunos rojos fui formando algunas paredes y pasillos justo en el fondo, así como también cree algunas grietas en las paredes y aplique una gran sombra en el lado superior derecho del lienzo.
