Today I am going to talk about one of the important topics about which we all need to discuss and stand up to play our roles for a better world. The topic that I am going to talk about is humanity, about which we hear quite often and know about very well.

But, when we hear the word “humanity”, we think it’s all about being kind and helping each other, standing and supporting one other. And, we think we all do that. Right? We think we help each other and understand people, support them and much more. And so we conclude that we are not lacking humanity. But it will surprise you to know that there’s much more.

Humanity is not only showing empathy to each other during times of need but it’s more about respect and love we give to each and every being during all the phases of life. Respect and love shouldn’t depend on one’s size of pocket.

We all talk about humanity. Then why do we respect and talk to people according to their status and power? Why do we stand and greet our boss or CEO and not some white collar workers and colleagues?

Has Humanity Lost Its Way?

Our journey as humans started hundreds of thousands of years ago, and at that time we were all equal and all one. Over time, as we gradually progressed, we built more and more divisions for ourselves.

Things like religions, the concept of nations, castes, status in society, the division of rich and poor are all man made things that have only divided us into smaller and smaller groups and now there is just too much inequality in every single thing.

Because of this division, a lot of hatred has been created and spread all around. As everyone compares each other and think they are right and they deserve better. This has created a lot of violence in this world. Because of this meaningless division we humans went totally towards an opposite direction to humanity.

But I want you to think. Why this division? Aren’t we all equal? Aren’t we all humans with the same bones, blood, skin, flesh? Then why so much difference, inferiority and hatred for one another?

Let’s All Be One

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if the whole of human race could come together to be one. No such division, no bias like high class or low class, gender inequality and all, all same and one human.

After all, we are all humans and we were all born the same and also ultimately have to die. We are here for a short amount of time. So why not just create love and peace all around the world.

There should be only one religion, one caste or one class that is “humanity”. After all, we are all the same. Just think as if we are just one soul and nothing else. This way we can create a beautiful world to live in.

“As we are all visitor/ tourists in each others’ life anyways, we better learn from all and make it worth their while”.
