Splinterlands | Start earning passive income by renting your SPS

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands Players!

I hope all of you are doing well in your life and also started experimenting with the brand new Rebellion cards that just got introduced in the gameplay. I have to say that the whole playing experience has taken a U-turn in splinterlands, especially for me since all these cards can be used in both modern and wild formats in the game and all my precious strategies and tactics are falling like a house of cards. I guess the same is happening to many of you as well and since we all have only started to try and experiment with all these new Reb cards, it will take some time for us to know and study them well to find sweet spots for them in battles and in order to achieve that, practice is the key I think. However, the sl team has worked greatly on the asset valuation of Rebellion cards and unlike what we have seen with the previous Chaos Legion edition cards, Rebellion card prices in the sl market have not only refused to go cheaper but their prices are also getting appreciated day by day indeed. While the 2 promo cards that got airdropped to the pre-sale pack buyers are now selling for around 400$ for max-level cards, only a few rebellion max-level cards can be spotted selling for under 100$ and I don’t think the situation will change anytime soon. In fact, when the new airdrop system gets started and we have to stake our packs or cards in order to get airdrop cards, the card prices can even go higher from here.

Now, sadly my personal financial condition didn't allow me to take part in the pre-sale and I decided to buy cards one by one from the market directly and make them max level so that I can use them while playing Champion League. But looking at the current situation, I think it will be almost impossible for me to max them all out until next year. On the other hand, as I don't have any cards from the rebellion set, playing ranked or any other format is feeling silly as I tried and failed miserably in the modern format while competing with only chaos cards. After playing in the ranked format for a long time with untamed and chaos, I was deeply used to playing with these 2 edition cards and now whenever I go to play, I really miss my old untamed cards while getting chopped by the opponent’s rebellion cards which is too pathetic to endure. So, that’s why I decided to take a break from actively playing the game for some time and use this time to rent out my card collection to generate some money that will help me to build my Rebellion collection.

Now, I also happen to hold a decent amount of staked SPS in my account and it generates staking rewards rewards in the form of SPS and Vouchers every day. But for me, its main purpose was to generate a good amount of SPS rewards from battles but now as I am taking a temporary leave from active playing, the SPS will be of no use apart from generating the staking rewards. But wait, hasn't it been sorted out already by the sl team by introducing the SPS renting market a long ago? Yes, now it’s very easy to be a part of the game and generate rewards passively and without actively playing every day by simply renting out your staked SPS to other players who are in need and earning DEC from it. This is a great way, especially for those who don't have time or a good enough collection of cards to play actively every day but still want to get attached to the project and earn. By renting out SPS you don't have to sacrifice your stake SPS earnings at all but a chance to earn even more from your staked SPS just by renting or delegating it out to other players using the in-game SPS delegation interface which you can easily access from the in-game SPS wallet page. So right now and respecting my current situation, I decided to try the SPS renting feature out for the first time in my life and let’s now see how much extra income it generates for me.

Now at below, I will be sharing a simple series of steps to delegate or rent your staked SPS and start earning money.

• First, go to the in-game SPS wallet page. Here you can see your total staked SPS amount and just at the bottom of the box, you can see the ‘MANAGE’ button, click on it.

• A new pop-up window will appear where you can see 3 tabs - Outgoing, Incoming and Market. Just go to the market tab.

• In the market tab, you can see a list of active SPS delegation requests from another player along with their total asking amount, price and the name of the renter. If you like the amount and the price they are offering for it, then just click on the FILL BID button beside the offer and sign via your Keychain in order to successfully execute the transaction. Please note that you must have enough staked SPS to perform the transaction and after you do, the DEC will be instantly added to your in-game DEC balance.

• You can also list an order in case you are an active player and need some staked SPS to increase your rewards. Anyways, you can check your outgoing and incoming delegation in those other 2 tabs.

• As per the price structure, SPS delegation lasts at least for 7 days and after that, you have to manually close it or it will continue. The payment will be paid every day until the contract ends not to mention a small portion of the DEC earnings will get cut for the market fee and Burn fee as you can see from the above image.
