Splinterlands | My Land Journey Begins!

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands Players!

I hope all of you are enjoying this amazing winter season with your friends and family and also playing and enjoying this game in the meantime. For me, Splinterlands is becoming more attractive day by day, especially after the launch of new Rebellion edition cards that recently got introduced in the game and are now playable in all formats. As I have started practicing with these new cards, I really like these new monsters and though I am losing more matches than before, I am enjoying every bit of it while learning about these new cards and finding their true potential. This is the second ongoing ranked season after the release of Rebellion cards but even within this short span of time, so many players have updated their cards as I am facing them while Playing in Champion league and clearly, anyone who is lacking Rebel cards now will lose matches easily while facing them from the opponent’s side.

Now, as you can clearly see, neither the price of Rebellion packs in Hive-Engine nor the Rebellion cards in the market are showing any discount but it was expected due to the new airdrop mechanism and people are holding onto their rebellion assets like precious gems. So if anyone is planning to get these new rebellion cards like me will have to start collecting them anyway without any hope for any lucrative deal it seems. But I want to say thanks to the splinterlands team for bringing this new airdrop mechanism, as it is working in a great way to keep the value of the rebellion packs and cards stable. Unlike what happened with the previous Chaos Legion edition where the general sale continued, both the pack and card prices fell a lot and you can even see chaos packs are getting sold for around 0.9$ even now in Hive-Engine, these new Rebellion edition packs and cards are holding their value strongly and clearly unless all the airdrop cards get distributed, there’s hardly any chance for them to drop values I think. This will give investors more trust to invest in rebellion edition packs and cards for the long term which is good for the economy as well.

Started by Land Journey

On the other hand, the Land update also got released and those who bought Land and were waiting for a long time period to see this update are right now focusing on making their land start producing rewards. I am also lucky to have a single piece of Land with me and just like all of you, I also started producing Grain on Land and today I claimed my first grain reward. My Land is situated in the Lake area, located at 121st region and it's a common type of neutral Land. I have already staked my Runi and also filled the 5 worker slots with 5 cards respectively and Gladly, it has also started producing me Grain.

Currently, I am earning 492 grains per hour and just claimed my first Grain reward and received my first batch of grain rewards where I got 54,728 grains after reducing all the costs. As I am using my Runi and also 4 gold foil cards in my land, I am receiving a little bit more rewards and right now, I am thinking of buying some old alpha/beta series cards and staking them in my land so that I can generate even more rewards with them. However, right now we can not sell or trade our grain, but we can transfer it to other players or other lands in other regions. But transferring them to other players or to other regions will cost a flat 12.5% fee in the amount we would be transferring. We can also buy grain using DEC where each grain costs 1 dec. I think it will also be available very soon. The main usability of grain will be to use them to build and upgrade buildings in your land as a fee to harvest your resources and ai will be saving all my grain for now until I make a fat amount and learn how it utilise it properly to increase the earning.

Not only grain but we can also start producing DEC on our land but in order to do that, we would have to invest dec in our land apart from staking cards in those worksites. If anyone is using max-level cards on his land, then for each max-level worker card on a land plot, one has to invest 10k dec in it to charge the worksite’s power source and start producing rewards. But this cost will proportionally reduce if anyone is using below max level cards and as expected, rewards generated will be a bit less too. Now, I just started my journey with Land, collected my first batch of grain, and haven't got time to read all the details, so once I do so I will be writing another post in Land including all the details and my personal experience in the future. Until then, I will leave my land as it is, will continue to claim my grain rewards every 7 days and increase my Grain balance.
