SPLINTERLANDS | MANTAROTH is the most furious attacker in whole Rebellion edition

What’s up my fellow splinterlands players!

I hope all of you are doing well and also enjoying this strategic web3 play2earn game at its best! If you are a dedicated player then you must be battling hard in the arena right now as this current ranked season has almost come to its end and only around 22 hours left for the season to meet its end. For me, I have been playing since morning and spent all my battle energy to reach a good spot in the leaderboard and gladly, in spite of a tough competition this season, I somehow booked a spot in the top 25 place in the Champion lb. Not only I drained out all my energy but I also bought 16 energies to play even more, which costed me 8k Dec and I also spent around 5k more for renting cards that I don't own in my collection. I personally felt these cards to be very important to fight against the OG top players in this game and as I thought, they really helped me a lot to reach into the top tier leaderboard in this game and if I maintain my position till the season end, I will be rewarded with 40k Dec as lb prize. Now, I will pause my playing till the season ends but I will also be keeping an eye on the lb because if I lose the place come down from the top 25, I may decide to play again at the last hour.

Anyway, now allow me to come to the main topic of this post as today, I will be talking about one of the best Rebellion cards today. I already told you above that I rented some cards especially to fight better in the ranked arena and one of the cards that I dented is none other than the mighty MANTAROTH, one of the 2 promo airdrop cards in Rebellion that got distributed to the rebellion pre-sale pack buyers. This card is too OP and quickly became popular because of it’s defensive stats and unavoidable melee attacks with some more attributes which I will be talking in detail later in this post. So without further ado, let's jump right into it..

MANTAROTH

Mantaroth is a special promo card and falls under the rebellion edition and this is a melee attack monster. This is a legendary type card that needs a total of 11 BCX cards to be upgraded to max level and it costs 11 mana to be used in battles, so you can fit this card easily in medium to large mana limit matches. It’s attack type is melee and the main advantage of this card is it’s Armoured Strike + Repair combo which works very well with each other. Let us now take a further look into it’s league-wise stats below.

Bronze

At level 1, this card possesses 3 melee attack at 2 speed with 3 armour and 11 health along with 2 abilities that it gets since its initial level - Shield and Armoured Strike. With the help of Shield ability, it gets reduced damage from melee and ranged attacks and with the newly launched Armoured Strike ability, it gets additional damage and strikes one more time with the attack power equal to its armour at that time and does not attack if it loses its armour.

Silver

When upgraded to the next level 2, this card gets 3 melee attack at 2 speed with 4 armour and 11 health and also gets another ability - True Strike. Now with this new ability, this card will NEVER miss its attack. How cool is that?

Gold

When you upgrade this card further to level 3, it gets the same stats of 3 melee attack at 2 speed with 4 armour and 11 health but it gets a new ability - Repair. With the Repair ability, now this card can restore a maximum of one third of the max armour of any friendly monster including itself if broken.

Diamond / Champion

When you upgrade this card to its max level 4, it gets the same stats as of its previous level but it does get another new ability - Blast. Now with this newly added ability, whenever this card attacks an enemy, the adjacent monsters of that enemy cards also get half the damage of its attacking power, rounded up.

Battle Stat

This time I got a large 55 mana limit match where every element apart from Water was available and there were 2 rulesets applied in this match, Aimless (all monsters get Scattershot ability) and Melee Mayhem (melee monsters can attack from any position). In this match, I chose the Legendary Chaos Earth summoner Immortalis and at the front position, I chose Mycelic Infantry followed by Venari Knifer, Arkemis the Bear, Mantaroth, Goblin Psychic and Supply Runner at the end position.

As the battle was revealed, I saw that my opponent had chosen the Legendary Life rebellion summoner Avina of the Wolf and at his front position, he had chosen Inevitable followed by Mantaroth, Adelade Brightwing, Time Mage, Anachron Bolter and Prismologist at the end place.

Well, it was truly a great battle and I got the upper-hand because most of my opponent’s attacking cards were magic and I chose the Immortalis summoner which gives Void ability to all friendly monsters, but however his 2 melee monsters were a pain to me. As the battle followed, his magic monsters all equipped with Scattershot ability started attacking my backline monsters where most of my monsters were melee so I targeted his inevitable. Sadly, the enemy Bolter attacked and killed my Venari Knifer in the second round, but I also killed his inevitable with my Infantry in the same round, thou it got resurrected by the Adelade soon after. Later ai killed it again at round 3. At round 4, 3 more of my monsters also got killed down and only the Mantaroth and Infantry were alive, but unbelievably, only these 2 monsters later killed down all the enemy monsters together and scored me a jaw-dropping victory!
