If you are a user of the Hive blockchain, you must be a player of Splinterlands as well or at least heard about it. It is a digital card-based strategy game that runs on the Hive chain and if I am not wrong, it is currently the biggest game project in the hive ecosystem and among the top 10 games in this vast crypto world. This game got inspired by world-famous card games like Magic the Gathering, yu-gi-oh, etc and unlike most crypto-based games out there, it gives you an actual skill-based game experience and monetary rewards along with it. The game launched back in 2018 and was built upon the steemit blockchain but later and after Hive got forked out from steemit, this game also migrated and now running on the Hive chain since. Just like the hive chain, this game is also decentralized in manner, which gives control to its user base, and through a dedicated proposal and voting system, investors and players collectively take the necessary decisions and hence, construct the future of this game together.

To play the game, users need to have to buy a starter pack that gives them permission to play and earn monetary rewards from the game. Players earn from this game depending upon their card collection, their levels, and of course the skill of the player. There are different styles of gameplay like ranked, tournaments, and brawls, all of which have separate reward structures and enable us to earn in multiple ways in this game. Apart from NFT cards in the game, the game also has its own set of tokens and other types of assets and all of them hold certain monetary value and are recognized as digital assets. The in-game reward token as well as the governance token of this game is called SPS aka Splintershards. Players can earn this token from playing and winning ranked p2p matches, participating and securing a place in the tournaments, or performing well in brawls or guild wars. With a recent update, to increase their earnings, players now also need to stake a certain amount of SPS in their account and the more one stake, the more he will earn from ranked matches. This new major update in the game is responsible for the huge spike in SPS price which took it from 0.016$ to 0.024$ with an insane 50% value appreciation within around a week. It's a happy season going on right now in the splinterlands community because of this sudden pump, and as a long-time player and investor, I am also feeling amazing to be a part of this great community.

The team behind splinterlands is just amazing and thanks to the owners and developers who work tirelessly every day to make this game cool over time. They have been working continuously not only to make a better game environment but also to maintain and grow a balanced economy in the game. A large number of investors and players around the world are deeply into this project for years and also new members are joining this space daily. It is because, despite being a crypto-based game, this game is running and growing for over 5 years and most of the crypto games die within their first year. It would not have been possible without the continuous and valuable updates to the game which helped it to survive and get more balanced over time. I still remember those early days when there was only 1 alpha set of cards in the game and look at it now having hundreds of cards from multiple sets. No doubt, the game is now more versatile and enriched, more fun to play, and with lots of cards to choose from, it gets interesting and engaging now more than ever. We also have packs and many non-card assets and Lands! The splinterlands universe is getting bigger and bigger while keeping a smooth balance with the gameplay and economy, and with the major upcoming Land update, I am pretty sure that things are going to change to a whole new level here.

Now talking about myself, apart from being a card collector and active player, I am also a believer in SPS tokens and accumulating as many SPS as I can at this moment. I started staking this token when it launched last year and I staked most of the SPS amount that I received from the year-long daily drop. I didn't even limit myself when the airdrop ended, in spite, I made a new accumulation plan and took an oath not to touch my SPS staled wallet and re-invest every bit of SPS that I earn back to savings which I am doing still now. Just yesterday, I crossed the staking total of 95k SPS and am now just 5k away from my first goal of collecting a total of 100k SPS. I am feeling honored and happy about my achievement, as I worked hard for a long with it. Also, as the SPS price is finally catching a trend after a long time, my SPS stake valuation has increased well and powered up my portfolio. I hope that I reach the last 5k SPS that I need faster and then, I will start working on my second 100k SPS.

As I already talked about above, there are multiple ways to earn from this game by actively playing and participating and that’s what I am doing for a long time. I play ranked matches regularly and as a reward, I get a decent amount of SPS from every won ranked match and also get SPS from daily focus and season reward chests. But not only that, but I also actively participate in and play tournaments and brawls which are the main source of earning in splinterlands through playing. But, for those who are investors but don’t have enough time to play the game on a daily basis, they also can earn well by simply just renting their cards and now even SP to other players. For those thinking if it's safe to do renting in this crypto project, fear not as the renting is a semi-automatic process controlled by the blockchain technology itself, where you are the owner of your cards and assets and they won't get theft. I know many people here who just rent their cards and earn an impressive amount every season. Now that we can even rent our staked SPS and earn from it, the earning opportunity increases even more in this project and thus making it more eye catchy to both old and new investors.
