My top 3 Epic edition soul-bound cards in Splinterlands

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands players!

I hope you all are doing fine and enjoying the upcoming weekend with your family and friends but on the other hand, the time for this ongoing splinterlands ranked season has come close to its end and only 2 days and some hours left for us before it ends. So, I hope you all are battling well right now and trying to reach your goal spot as time passes by. Me, as usual, I am playing in the Diamond League and currently trying my best to reach a top position in the Diamond leaderboard before the time finishes. This season, I have collected a total of 82 season reward chests so far which is a bit less than my usual, but I am happy with my achievement and hope to get another 4-5 if I continue playing. I also played all out today and collected 20 daily focus chests before stopped playing for the day and all these chests will get unlocked tonight. But, as I am currently fighting among the top 3 positions, I will stop playing if I reach the first position with a good margin of trophy count. Playing during the last 2 days can be tricky and I lost the top 3 place during the last season and only got able to secure the 9th spot as I got thrown out by other OG players. So, this season I have decided not to play in these last 2 days and probably sacrifice some of my energy if I secure a place in the top 3. Now, let's see how that goes.

Now, let’s come to the main theme of this post as today, I will be showcasing my top 3 epic soul-bound reward cards in this post. In my previous posts, I have already talked about my top 3 common and rare reward cards and for today’s topic, I will be looking at my favourite epic cards from the latest soul-bound reward card set. Now, for those who are unaware of this game, players in this game collect reward cards from both season and daily focus chests and the more they play the game, the more chances of getting these cards from reward chests. Unlike normal cards, soul-bound cards can not be bought or sold, rented or delegated or even burned for dec and they only stick with their origin account. This is the first generation of a soul-bound reward card set that got introduced in this game and this approach suddenly increases the urge among players to play this game even more.

Epic Collection

Looking at my collection of these latest soul-bound reward cards, I have already made a decent collection of them and all of my cards are minimum goal league or above level. Talking about epic cards, there are a total of 7 different epic cards, one from each splinter and all my epic cards are already at level 3 or 4. Now, without further ado, let’s jump into my top 3 list among them and why I liked these cards over others.

IIDRI FYRE

The first monster that I would like to call out is the Iidri Fyre and I hope this card is on the must-have list for many of you as well. This epic card belongs to the Fire splinter and it costs 6 mana to be used in battles. It is a tank-type card and does not hold any attack power even in her max level. However, its high armour + health combo makes it a good tank card and its set of amazing abilities also helps you well in battles.

The main advantage of using the FYRE on the battlefield is its Taunt + Return Fire ability combo. With the Taunt ability, you can attract all the enemy attacks into this monster and save your other attackers while it will return damage to the enemy range monsters whenever it gets hoy by them. It also has 2 other abilities - Redemption and Phase. The redemption ability will damage every enemy monster with 1 when this monster dies and with phase ability, it has now a chance to evade magic monster attacks as well. This monster hence is a good choice as a tank card against all 3 types of attacks.

CLOCKWORK AIDE

The second monster that I would like to mention here is the Clockwork Aide which is my other favourite reward monster mainly because of its Swift ability. This epic card belongs to the Neutral splinter and this is also an attack less card just like FYRE. It costs only 4 mana to be used in battles and with only 1 health even in its max level, using this monster can be tricky but if placed rightly, it can help you to score wins more easily.

The main thing that I love about this monster is its set of abilities that has the potential to turn the hame. At max level, it possesses no attack at 1 speed, 9 armour and 2 health along with 3 abilities - Swift, Rust and Strengthen. While the strength and swift ability will increase all of your friendly monsters' speed and health by 1, its rust ability will reduce 2 armours from every enemy monster as well. So, these monsters alone can potentially make your lineup even more powerful while weakening the enemy lineup.

NOA THE JUST

The last monster card that I will be showcasing today is none other than the Noa the Just. This amazing monster is an epic reward card and belongs to the Water realm. It costs only 5 mana to be used in battles and yes, just like those 2 monsters above that I discussed, this monster also doesn't carry any attack power with it and rather an attack-less tank card. But its high speed + armour + health combo will serve as a good defence while its abilities will help you big time in battles.

The main attraction of this card is its Martyr ability which is the latest ability introduced in splinterlands. With the help of this ability, whenever this monster dies it will increase all the stats of adjacent friendly monsters by 1. Moreover, its Rust ability will reduce armours from enemy monsters, the Evade ability will give you more chances to dodge melee and ranged attacks and last but not least, the Backfire ability will damage enemy monsters every time they miss their attack on this monster. Due to its high speed + Evade ability combo, it will certainly become a tough target to hit and hence, you can expect to send the enemy monsters some return damages with its backfire ability.
