My SPS accumulation strategy | How I reach 90k from scratch

What's up my fellow splinterlands players!

I am an old player of splinterlands and joined the game back in 2018, soon after it got launched in steem blockchain. Back then, the game was named steemmonsters but later, when the project migrated from Steem to hive chain, the name of the game also got changed to splinterlands. The era of play2earn games only got hyped within the last 2 - 3 years but splinterlands as we all know, come into existence long before that and it would not be wrong to say that this game was one of the first-ever games made on blockchain technology that still exists and running. During this hype, splinterlands also experienced an immense boost in its asset and token appreciation and many people were rich who believed in the game and invested before the pump came. For me, I joined Steem back in 2018 when I just passed out of college and was jobless, empty-handed and looking for online jobs and opportunities to earn, when I first heard about Steem and stumbled upon crypto and blockchain technology for the first time.

Since I started playing splinterlands, I fell in love with this awesome project from the first day. Back then and even now, most of the crypto-based games were gambling types or simply scams but unlike them all, this project was so different and provided an actual competitive game-playing environment to its users. Anyways, as I really started loving the game, I used to spend almost all my earnings to buy game cards because performing better in the gameplay and losing others became my main motive in this game. I know in the crypto space, investment strategies, routine monitoring of investments and focusing on value appreciation are one of the key factors in crypto, but when it comes to splinterlands, even now, I fail to be speculative and only listen to my heart.

They say when you are invested long term with any good investment, the result will always be fruitful and gladly, the same happened to me for investing in splinterlands. When I first started playing the game, my only earning source was the cents I get from posting in Steem but I used to invest all of them to buy cards. But over time, as I started growing in this platform, my splinterlands assets also grew alongside. My main focus was always to focus on upgrading good summoners and cards so that I can level up faster and be able to play in top leagues. Playing against the top players used to be my dream but now gladly, it is a reality and my small but regular investments over a long time period grew so well that I own a competitive champion deck now which is worth thousands of dollars. It feels amazing how I started from 0 and came here without any fiat investment and all thanks go to the amazing splinterlands and Hive community because without all of you supporting me for a long time, it would not have been possible for me to come here.

Apart from investing cards, I am also focused on accumulating SPS and I am collecting and staking SPS since the airdrop started. When the SPS token first got launched, it touched a whopping all-time high of near 1$ price per unit because of huge demand but very less supply during its early days. But, as the daily SPS airdrop continues, the price also fell down marginally. But I did not sell my SPS when it was trading near its all-time high value and I am not selling even now when it is trading near its all-time low value, simply because I am a believer. I certainly know that splinterlands didn't just lunch another token just to create false hype but actually, this token will be the core asset of splinterlands. Surely there are some reasons behind the fall of SPS and the most important one is its real use cases un games. But things are changing now as the airdrop ended long ago and the team is also strengthening the toke with more use cases. One such upgrade is already on schedule as the reward structure is fully changing soon in the game and whereas currently, the current reward system works on collection power, it is soon going to be replaced with staked SPS count which is about to kick in the next quarter of this year. Thou there are some mixed feelings about this update in the community as players will be required to stake a lot of SPS into their account to earn well in higher leagues, I am trying my level best to accumulate as many SPS as I can before the update kicks in. I have a strong feeling in my mind that update this update gets live, the price of SPS will start to rise again and reach new heights.

If you currently look at the SPS price chart, it is trading for 0.017$ right now and its all-time low price is 0.016$, so it is literally trading near its ATL value. So, I think it’s a great time to invest and accumulate SPS if you believe in this game just like me. If at least, after 6 months SPS price increases to 0.1$, we will be getting 5.88x returns on our investment respecting the current price which is just an amazing return if it actually happens. But let’s see how it goes when it update gets live I am badly waiting to experience that change just like many of you. As I play in the Diamond league, in order to receive 100% of the rewards I would have to stake 177k SPS into my account. But sadly, I am only able to stake half of that total amount in my account and with my current stake amount, I will be still getting nearly 80% of the rewards so that is not all bad. Considering the fact that many players would be lacking that much staked amount in their account, I can even win the better amount of rewards for being above them but it's just a wild speculation and one can only tell when the update actually gets launched in the game.

Now, I am currently working strictly on my accumulation strategy and re-staking all my SPS earnings from ranked, tournament, and brawls gameplay back into my staled account and I am also reinvesting all my staked SPS earnings back as well. Gladly today, I have reached another milestone and successfully crossed staking a total of 90k SPS into my account. Last day I won a big prize from a Diamond League modern tournament and bagged myself 645 SPS. Today I staked all of that amount and also added some more from my staled rewards and staked a total of 664.35 SPS into my wallet and currently, my total staked SPS amount is 90,298. Hopefully, if all goes well I think I can cross a stake of the total 100k SPS within the next 40-50 days and that will be a big milestone for me for organically growing a whopping amount of SPS. Apart from accumulating SPS, I am also not neglecting the cards part as well and recently bought and upgraded a max level Vruz monster card into my account which I wrote about yesterday.

Initially, my goal was to stake a total of 100k SPS into my account, but When the new upgrade of the changing reward requirement from CP to staled SPS got proposed, I decided to increase my goal to a total of 200k staked SPS. I do know that it is a large amount for small players like me and would require a long time to reach that milestone, but I will stay positive and do my things and I hope one day, I would be able to reach my goal.
