Splinterlands | I just opened 56 Gladius packs today!

What’s up Splinterlands players!

I hope all of you have enjoyed a spectacular weekend with your loved ones and in the meantime, I hope you are also enjoying this amazing strategy game. Well as time is passing by, it seems we have already come halfway through this ongoing ranked season and as of writing this, less than 9 days remain for this current season to meet its end, so let us put all our strength into the arena for victories, so that we can gather more reward chests and SPS. Now looking at my playing status, I am as usual playing in the Champion League as today, I somehow managed to enter the Champion I tier and currently sitting with a trophy count of 4,308. Looking at my season rewards meter, till now, I have been able to collect 44 season reward chests so far and having only another week in hand, I think I can increase it to 75 + at least if all goes well, but as I have climbed my way up to the topmost tier, I have started losing more matches now which is affecting the chest count already. As for daily rewards, today I received the Earth as my focus mission which is one of my favourite splinters and ended playing for the day after collecting a total of 10 focus reward chests, which will be claimable after some hours. So far in this ongoing season, I haven't been lucky enough to pull any attractive rewards so hope the season end chests bring something shiny to change my mood. As the season's end is approaching near, I am also thinking of renting some missing cards in my arsenal to boost my performance because it is pretty hard to compete against the top OG players in this game with a half-baked collection. Gladly I have completed upgrading all my chaos cards to max level already and most of the Riftwatchers as well and only those airdrop RW cards are left to be bought. Now I am keeping an eye on the market to find good deals on those cards but unlike Chaos cards, Riftwatchers cards are way more scarce in total print count, especially those airdropped legendary cards, so let’s see if I can grab a good deal or buy them for whatever they being sold For in the near future.

Brawls

Now, let us move towards the main topic of this post as today, I will be talking about brawls. We can say Brawls as a special type of tournament style gameplay in this game in which different guilds or clans fight among each other and try to get the top spots in the brawl leaderboard for juicy SPS and merit as rewards. In Brawls players of a guild fight players with other guilds and before playing, guilds have strategically allocate and fill the frays or spots to their players respecting their card collection in order to achieve maximum wins, because certain Frays have limits like only gold foil cards or certain card-sets like chaos or alpha can be usable etc. Apart from ranked gameplay and tournaments, Brawls are also important to play in this game because not only give good rewards in the form of SPS, but it also gives a large amount of merit points to players, which can be used to buy gladius packs and get gladius cards. Gladius cards are special types of playable NFT cards in the game that are soul-bound by nature, which means you can not buy or sell, rent or delegate them to other accounts and can only burn them for DEC tokens. So the only way to get them in your hand is by actually playing the game and while playing ranked matches can earn you a decent amount of merit points from those reward chests which is certainly not enough, playing Brawl is the effective way to gather a substantial amount of merit points and get those gladius cards at a way better rate.

Now, I have been playing brawls for quite some time now and I am a proud member of The Neoxian Guild since the beginning and just last night, we just finished playing another brawl and already preparing for the next one. Gladly, we are on a winning spree and have secured the first place in the leaderboard this time as well. I really want to thank our guild Owner Mr. Neoxian, guild officer Xawi and all of my fellow guild players who put their level best in this Last brawl and snatched the top position once again. As for rewards, the guild has won a total of 211 Crowns and each member of our guild who played this brawl got rewarded with 166.543 SPS and a whopping amount of 13,062 merits each.

Now, I have been saving all my Merit earnings for quite some time now, because I wanted to open a bulk amount of Gladius packs and opened them all at once. So today after the brawl prize distribution when I went to visit the guild shop to check my current merit amount, I was astonished to see that I have saved over 100k merits. The total number of merit points that I was having were 112,456 and it was enough to buy me 56 gladius packs because each gladius pack requires 2000 merits. So, without wasting any more time I did exactly that and bought a total of 56 packs and then went to the mana we to open them all at once.

Needless to mention that I was very excited about this event as pack opening is a thrilling thing in this game and gives you an adrenaline rush and a pounding heart where your eyes constantly look at the screen without even blinking to see what are you pulling when turning and revealing every card. However, without stretching it any further, let me just share the outcome at above. As you can see, I have got some good pulls from all those 56 Gladius packs but wasn't lucky enough to pull any gold foil legendary or epic cards. The sadness for me continues as even after playing brawls since the beginning I haven't got my hands on even a single gold Foil legendary till now, so I wasn't expecting to break my streak in this pull as well. But what saddens me is that I didn't even get a single foil epic card as well from the pull. However, another thing that I was really Praying for from this pull was at least one BCX of Quora and luckily I got one that applied a band-aid to my heart. Finally, I can upgrade my Quora to level 4 now so I am happy with the outcome. By the way, Here is my present Gladius card collection at below where my collection is playable for the gold league already, and I hope to upgrade them to the maximum level soon.
