Yo no soy una persona que escucha demasiada música en español. Ya sé que es mi lengua nativa y no me malinterpretes, me parece un idioma hermoso. Pero simplemente la música en español no me apasiona demasiado. Sin embargo, existen bandas que me encantan totalmente y en español, mi favorita siempre será El Cuarteto de Nos, la increíble banda de uruguayos que me cautivaron desde la primera canción que escuché de ellos. Son maravillosos y en este post les cuento porqué✨
I am not a person who listens too much to music in Spanish. I already know that it is my native language and don't get me wrong, I think it is a beautiful language. But I'm simply not too passionate about music in this language. However, there are bands that I totally love and in Spanish, my favorite will always be El Cuarteto de Nos ("The Nos Quartet"), the incredible Uruguayan band that captivated me from the first song I heard from them. They are wonderful and in this post I will tell you why✨

Arriesgarlo todo por la música | Risk it all for the music
¿Si te digo que la banda comenzó cuando todos los integrantes estaban en sus 40? Pues sí, todos decidieron poner en riesgo sus vidas perfectamente comunes, con trabajos y rutina normales por una vida de estrellas de rock. Suena a una completa locura y realmente lo es, pero por suerte para ellos salió bien😅.
También suerte para nosotros que estos talentosos señores decidieran exponer su talento para que así hoy podamos disfrutar de su música. Su género es rock/pop alternativo por lo general, pero para mí pueden llegar a integrar muchos más géneros, aunque el principal siempre es el rock. Su nombre viene de que al principio eran 4 integrantes, por lo que «cuarteto» era por la cantidad y aparte podría confundirse con un cuarteto de cuerdas. «Nos» viene de «nosotros», refiriéndose nuevamente a que era un proyecto muy personal, muy de ellos.
What if I told you that the band started when all the members were in their 40s? Well yes, they all decided to put their perfectly ordinary lives at risk, with normal jobs and routines, for a life as a rock star. It sounds completely crazy and it really is, but luckily for them it turned out well😅.
Also lucky for us that these talented gentlemen decided to expose their talent so that we can enjoy their music today. Their genre is generally alternative rock/pop, but for me they can integrate many more genres, although the main one is always rock. Its name comes from the fact that at the beginning there were 4 members, so "quartet" was due to the number and could also be confused with a string quartet. “Nos” comes from “us" (in spanish "nosotros”), referring again to the fact that it was a very personal project, very much theirs.
Creo que la primera canción que escuché de ellos (si mi memoria no me falla) fue «Lo malo de ser bueno» y ya con la letra de esta canción puedes ver lo irónicas que son sus letras, los satíricas e incluso ofensivas que pueden ser las analogías que utilizan, pues esa es la esencia de la banda. Lo irreverente es su característica principal, justamente lo que la hace especial.
I think the first song I heard from them (if my memory serves me right) was "The Bad Thing of Being Good" and with the lyrics of this song you can see how ironic their lyrics are, how satirical and even offensive they can be. The analogies they use, because that is the essence of the band. Irreverence is its main characteristic, precisely what makes it special.
Sus letras también tocan temas como crisis existenciales, rencor, dualidad, crítica social entre tantos otros que al menos con uno de ellos puedes llegar a sentirte totalmente identificado. Aparte algo que me encanta es que mezclan ciertas palabras en inglés lo que hace que la canción se escuche más dinámica y para mí más pegadiza (también había una explicación a nivel musical que yo no entiendo mucho 😅 por ello no profundizo).
Una de mis favoritas es «Ya no sé qué hacer conmigo», puesto que refleja bastante bien ese dilema de no saber exactamente quiénes somos con una letra llena de analogías expresando claramente la duda e indecisión, usando un ritmo y género (o mezcla de géneros) que te hace querer bailar cuando en realidad habla de una crisis que no es nada agradable. Es sencillamente genial.
Their lyrics also touch on themes such as existential crises, resentment, duality, social criticism among so many others that at least one of them can make you feel completely identified with. Apart from that, something that I love is that they mix certain words in English which makes the song sound more dynamic and for me more catchy (there was also a musical explanation that I don't understand much 😅 that's why I won't go into depth on that).
One of my favorites is "I don't know what to do with myself anymore", since it reflects quite well that dilemma of not knowing exactly who we are with lyrics full of analogies clearly expressing doubt and indecision, using a rhythm and genre (or mix of genres) that makes you want to dance when in reality it talks about a crisis that is not pleasant at all. It's simply great.
Lo que más me encanta es que creo que todas sus letras llevan a una reflexión bien sea de moralidad, algo social, existencial, de una persona o un grupo e incluso sobre ti mismo. Creo que me atrevería a decir que todas sus letras son espectaculares.
What I love most is that I think all of his lyrics lead to a reflection, whether it be about morality, something social, existential, about a person or a group and even about yourself. I think I would dare to say that all of their lyrics are spectacular.
En general todas sus canciones son bastante buenas puesto que tienen esa esencia del rock pero sin llegar a ser pesado, por lo que resulta en un tipo de música que puede llegar a gustar a cualquier público. Por ejemplo, «Yendo a la casa de Damián» es un rock bastante suave pero aún así mantiene su esencia irreverente. Es una de mis canciones favoritas.
In general, all their songs are quite good since they have that essence of rock but without being heavy, which results in a type of music that any audience can like. For example, "Going to Damian's House" is quite soft rock but still keeps its irreverent essence. It's one of my favorite songs.
Así que El Cuarteto de Nos me parece una banda increíble en todos los aspectos, desde su género, el concepto de sus letras y su estilo en general. Definitivamente todos deberían escuchar al menos una de sus canciones alguna vez, y estoy segura que será suficiente para engancharte a toda su obra.
So El Cuarteto de Nos to me is an incredible band in all aspects, from its genre, the concept of its lyrics and its style in general. Everyone should definitely listen to at least one of their songs at some point, and I'm sure it will be enough to get you hooked on all of their work.

Que gran inspiracion para muchos (como yo con el violin a mis casi 30 jaja) que ingresaron o quieren ingresar al mundo de la musica mas tarde, pero no imposible, me llena de entusiasmo y me motiva aun mas jeje ❤️
Ojala tengan mucho mas exito, me pondre a escuchar algunas canciones por la noche cuando ya este en la cama antes de ir a dormir ❤️ excelentes por estos muchachos 👌

Totalmente de acuerdo. Ellos demuestran que casi nunca es tarde para hacer muchas cosas y que puedes ser exitoso.
