Mi hija y yo de paseo por La Habana

Cada vez que vengo a La Habana a visitar a mi hija, ella quiere llevarme a pasear, tomar helado, o almorzar en algún lugar bonito que ella previamente ha visitado. Esta fue la ocasión en la que, a tanta insistencia, no pude negarme.

En realidad, mi negativa ha sido siempre porque vengo fundamentalmente para ayudarla en las labores de la casa, para que no gaste dinero y para que descanse.

Salimos bien temprano y pasamos primero por su trabajo a revisar si le habían publicado el material referente al Marabana del día anterior. Allí estaba su jefe que la felicitó por lo bueno que había quedado y lo calificó de excelente. Eso ya iba sumando a mi alegría de salir a pasear un rato y el orgullo de madre cuando escucha los elogios a su hija.

Continuamos nuestro paseo y fuimos directos a una heladería porque ya teníamos un poco de calor, lo cual es característico en una mañana soleada en La Habana.

¡Qué decir de los helados! Hacía mucho tiempo que no probaba helados tan exquisitos. De allí salimos, luego de estar un rato conversando y disfrutando de esos ricos sabores, y en lo que caminábamos fui conociendo algunos lugares de la ciudad para poder argumentar este paseo y que ustedes se sientan parte de él.

Atravesamos el parque del fondo de la Sala Polivalente que está frente a la terminal de ómnibus, y allí nos detuvimos para sentir la frescura del parque y su tranquilidad. Aunque había un señor, que al verme retratando a un gato que me llamó la atención por sus colores, nos dijo que él detestaba a esos animales y a los perros también. 😶

Hice algunas fotos antes de la próxima visita: el restaurante La Flor de Zapata, donde mi hija había sugerido que almorzáramos. Un lugar muy lindo y acogedor, pequeño pero muy bien diseñado y con mucho espacio al aire libre. Sobre esto tengo que decir que lo que no me gustó del todo es el ruido ambiental. Porque al estar ubicado en una calle muy transitada, y frente a una Estación de Bomberos, no faltó el estrepitoso ruido que producen esos carros cuando salen por un incendio, sonando sus sirenas. Esto nos dio mucha risa.

En realidad, la estancia allí fue muy alegre. 😁 Le dimos hasta un poco de celos a mi esposo, con quien hicimos una videollamada para enseñarle las cervezas y unas ricas croquetas, acompañadas con una salsa de mayonesa y Kétchup.

Todo el tiempo nuestra conversación, entre risas, cumplió el objetivo de nuestra salida que era salir y disfrutar juntas. Me encantó la pizza que pedimos para las dos, con pimiento, cebolla, jamón y queso. Era inmensa.

Terminado el almuerzo, continuamos nuestro paseo por un barrio que se llama La Timba, y pude conocer que allí se hacen muchos proyectos sociales para mejorar la calidad de vida de esas personas.

Caminamos tanto, que no puedo decir cuántos kilómetros recorrimos, antes de llegar al sitio donde se podía tomar un taxi para regresar a casa. Llegamos muy cansadas y mi hija me dijo: ¡Mamani no sé cómo tú puedes caminar tanto!, aunque lo entiendo porque tú a diario haces ejercicios físicos y estás entrenada.

Así terminó nuestro hermoso y divertido paseo por La Habana, y es cierto que tenemos que hacer estas cosas más a menudo para disfrutar y cambiar nuestras rutinas.

My daughter and I strolling around Havana

Every time I come to Havana to visit my daughter, she wants to take me for a walk, have ice cream, or have lunch at some nice place she has previously visited. This was the occasion when, at such insistence, I could not refuse.

Actually, my refusal has always been because I come mainly to help her with the housework, so that she doesn't spend money and so that she can rest.

We left very early and went first to her work to check if they had published the material about the Marabana of the previous day. There was her boss who congratulated her on how good it was and described it as excellent. That was already adding to my joy of going out for a walk for a while and the pride of a mother when she hears her daughter praised.

We continued our walk and went straight to an ice cream parlor because we were already a little hot, which is characteristic of a sunny morning in Havana.

What to say about the ice cream! It had been a long time since I had tasted such delicious ice cream. From there we left, after talking for a while and enjoying those delicious flavors, and as we walked I got to know some places in the city to be able to argue this tour and make you feel part of it.

We crossed the park at the back of the Polyvalent Hall (a sports center) in front of the bus terminal, and there we stopped to feel the freshness of the park and its quietness. Although there was a gentleman, who upon seeing me portraying a cat that caught my attention because of its colors, told us that he detested those animals and dogs too. 😶

I took some pictures before the next visit: the restaurant La Flor de Zapata, where my daughter had suggested we had lunch. A very nice and cozy place, small but very well designed and with lots of outdoor space. About this I have to say that what I didn't like at all was the ambient noise. Because being located on a busy street, and in front of a Fire Station, there was no lack of the loud noise produced by those cars when they go out for a fire, sounding their sirens. This gave us a good laugh.

Actually, the stay there was very joyful. 😁 We even made my husband a little jealous, with whom we made a video call to show him the beers and some delicious croquettes, accompanied with a mayonnaise and Ketchup sauce.

All the while our conversation, amidst laughter, fulfilled the objective of our outing which was to go out and enjoy ourselves together. I loved the pizza we ordered for both of us, with bell pepper, onion, ham and cheese. It was huge.

After lunch, we continued our walk through a neighborhood called La Timba, and I was able to learn that many social projects are carried out there to improve the quality of life of these people.

We walked so much that I can't tell you how many kilometers we walked before we reached the place where we could take a cab to go back home. We arrived very tired and my daughter said to me: "Mamani, I don't know how you can walk so much, although I understand it because you do physical exercises every day and you are trained.

Thus ended our beautiful and fun walk through Havana, and it is true that we have to do these things more often to enjoy and change our routines.
