Pizza - Food Photography
Since I bought the 60 cm octabox I have been taking photographs that I have fallen in love with, this tool improves the quality of light by 1000% and one of the things I have wanted to explore is taking photographs of food so I coordinated with a friend who works in a pizzeria so he let me take a couple of test photos at his location and today I share with you the results obtained in this photo session.
I chose to photograph a pizza because it is my favorite fast food so I had to honor it!
I started with a top-down photo, something very common in food photography:
Desde que me compré el octabox de 60 cm he estado obteniendo fotografias que me tienen enamorado, esta herramienta mejora la calidad de luz en un 1000% y una de las cosas que he querido explorar es hacer fotografias de alimentos asi que coordiné con un amigo que trabaja en una pizzeria para que me dejara hacer un par de fotos de prueba en su local y hoy les comparto los resultados obtenidos en esta sesion de fotos.
Escogí fotografiar una pizza porque es mi comida rapida favorita asi que tenia que hacerle honor!
Empecé con una foto en plano cenital, algo muy comun en la fotografia de alimentos:
Followed by a close up of the pizza, and as i don't have a macro lens I had to use a zoom lens and then crop in the edit:
Seguido por un close up de la pizza, como no tengo lente macro tuve que usar un lente de zoom y luego hacer recorte en la edicion:
This types of photo where the pizza is lifted is a classic!
Este tipo de fotos donde se levanta la pizza es un clasico!
For lighting I used a single point of light, my speed lite flash with a 60 cm octabox on one side of the pizza and to take the photos I used my Canon RP camera with a 24-105 lens at f/8.
In the following photo I wanted to highlight the pieces of pizza:
Para la iluminacion utilicé un solo punto de luz, mi flash speed lite con un octabox de 60 cm a un lado de la pizza y para tomar las fotos utilicé mi camara Canon RP con un lente 24-105 a f/8.
En la siguiente foto quise resaltar los pedazos de pizza:
And to finish I wanted to take a photo as if I were going to bite the pizza.
To get this photo I had to connect my camera to the phone via Bluetooth and framing the photo was a little complicated but after several attempts I achieved the desired result!
Y para finalizar quise hacer una foto como si fuera a morder la pizza.
Para lograr esta foto tuve que conectar mi camara al telefono mediante bluetooth y encuadrar la foto fue un poco complicado pero despues de varios intento logré el resultado mas o menos deseado!
Something I learned in this photo session is that to take photographs of food you have to work extremely fast because its optimal look only lasts a couple of minutes.
For the first time I take photographs of pizza, I feel super happy with the results, I know that in the future with practice I will be able to achieve better food photos!
Algo que aprendí en esta sesion de fotos es que para hacer fotografias de alimentos hay que trabajar extremadamente rapido pues su look optimo solo dura un par de minutos.
Para ser la primera vez que hago fotografias de pizza me siento super contento con los resultos, sé que en el futuro con la pratica podré lograr mejores fotos de alimentos!
