AFRI-TUNES WEEK #31| IMELA BY NATHANIEL BASSEY | GUITAR +VOICE (COVER)
AFRI-TUNES WEEK #31| IMELA BY NATHANIEL BASSEY | GUITAR +VOICE (COVER)
Hello ladies and gentlemen, hope you are doing great! As always I am glad for being here on Afri-tunes community. I want to also use this opportunity to congratulate @afri-tunes community for the consistency since the beginning and now @ 31st week! Great job! And more wins to you.
This week, I bring you a song by Nathaniel BASSEY, a powerful gospel music minister and one of Nigerias biggest gospel singers! He has over 27+ million views on YouTube and other platforms and is continually making waves in the gospel music industry. The title of the song is IMELA.
The word IMELA is an Igbo language word which is majorly used in showing gratitude and it literally means "you have done well" but in the context of the song, it signifies "thank you".
Just as the word denotes, the song caries and conveys the message of gratitude to God who have done great things especially unmerited graces that he has showered! A good analysis of the lyrics may make you rate it one of the best African worship songs ever!! Yes I mean ever!
Please do listen to the Original song and be blessed as I was with the positive energy therein. He has performed the song live in many church events across Nigeria but below, I will share with you a link to the Original song!
ENJOY!!!
When I think upon Your goodness
And Your faithfulness each day
I’m convinced it’s not because I am worthy
To receive the kind of love that You give
But I’m grateful for Your mercy
And I’m grateful for Your grace
And because of how You’ve poured out your Yourself
I have come to sing this song out in praise
Imela, Imela
Okaka, Onyekeruwa (Great and Might creator of the world)
Imela, Imela (Thank You! Thank You!)
Eze mo (My King)
Who am I to sing Your praises?
Who am I to worship You?
Its Your blood that makes the difference in me
And made a way to enter into Your throne
I could not come near Your presence
I could never sing Your song
But the sacrifice on Calvary’s tree
Is the reason I can cry out today
Imela, Imela
Okaka, Onyekeruwa
Imela, Imela
Eze mo
Imela, Imela
Okaka, Onyekeruwa
Imela, Imela
Eze mo…

Hey @magicfingerz
It was interesting to listen to this language I don't actually know, but what really matters is the music and how nice vibes this song brings. I enjoyed your video, much!

You are absolutely right! One can relate to any music, no matter the language.

You are awesome! 🙌
Indeed, music is a universal language, we can understand it without the lyrics if the musician is good to transmit the vibes. And you are one of those :) 🎶
