This is how to make gravy like salaya fish tempered without coconut milk.

Hi my loving Hivers, Greetings from Sri Lanka. A few months ago, I was able to participate in the cooking activities in our kitchen and also got the opportunity to publish those recipes in this valuable platform. But lately, being more busy with work, I lost the opportunity to cook. I was looking forward to a leisurely moment to prepare some delicious food which is my hobby. Since Sunday was a public holiday, I bought a kilo of salaya fish from the market at a low price. I was drawn to buy them because of the fresh fish and the calcium content of small fish. Then the salaya came home and prepared to prepare the fish in a new way in a delicious way. My parents cleaned and washed the fish. So in this interesting content I present how to prepare Salaya fish at home.

Ingredients,

  • 400 grams of salaya fish

  • Chopped garlic
  • Two pieces of Garcinia cambogia
  • Chopped onions
  • Four chopped green chilies
  • Curry leaves

  • One and a half tablespoons of chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • Fenugreek half teaspoon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil for frying
  • One cup of water

Preparing steps

Take a small bowl and add some salt to it. Now add chili powder to it. Add some water and dissolve it well and keep it aside.

Place a saucepan on the stove and add oil and let it heat. When the oil is hot, add the curry leaves.

Then cut the garcinia cambogia into small pieces and put the oil in the saucepan. Add fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds to the mentioned quantity and fry them.

Add chopped garlic and chopped onion to it and fry until golden.

Then add the chopped green chilli pods and fry them and add the chilli powder mixture made earlier. Now mix everything well.

Then add the mentioned amount of turmeric powder and mix. Bring the cup of water to a boil and stir the mixture for about a minute.

Then add the well-cleaned salaya fish and let it steam for about 10 minutes and take it off the stove.

This dish is very nutritious. I think that similar to this fish, here we have the so-called sardines. I am far from the sea, so there is no variety... Thank you for sharing your special recipe.

Yeah this recipe is very nutritious because salaya fish has big percentage of calcium. Yeah it had sardine taste.
