Hello my loving Hivers,

How are you guys? I really believe that you are doing very well in this beautiful day. I have not been able to create content for this platform for a long time due to being busy with work and some personal issues. After solving all of them I decided to join this platform again because Hive platform has given me many advantages. The 20th of July, which was Poya Day last July, was a very important cultural event for Sri Lankan Buddhists. Buddhism has many cultural aspects that are unique to other religions as well as cultural festivals. Among them, the creations and decorations made of different colors can be seen.

In fact, some aspects are very creative and attractive. More sacrifices should be made to complete these creations. The use of natural things for raw materials is remarkable. It is also commendable to arrange it in a way that rotates it in different directions using electrical circuits. The glow of the beautiful lights gives the nighttime a mesmerizing quality.

Many stories about the character of the Buddha and the history of Buddhism have been arranged in this way in a manner similar to a live one. I was also able to see a structure in the shape of the Kandy Dalandha Palace, which is a Sri Lankan Buddhist heritage, and houses the tooth relic of Buddha. Many of the lanterns were made by school-aged children. These creations were exposed by making different frames in different shapes. Prizes were also given to the winners to inspire the children to be creative. As children as well as adults, there were good examples to take from these creations.

Larger lanterns have a more attractive look. Sun leaves are pasted all around these lanterns and it is noticeable that decorative designs are pasted in between to add more attraction. Some other lanterns were prepared using dry coconut fibers. The creations made with natural ingredients are truly outstanding. A small lantern hanging around a large lantern is a distinct feature.

This cultural festival is a good example of increasing the creativity of children based on the knowledge of adults. This cultural festival was held around the old temple site called Yatagala. Not only the local people, but people from several areas were among them. It is for these reasons that Poya Day, known as Esala, is important to Sri Lankan Buddhists.

The most unique feature found in the Yatagala Cultural Sanctuary was the water pantheon which was using a projection on the lake. Among the Jataka stories mentioned in the Buddha's time, the Matsya (fish) Jataka was represented by this and a large crowd gathered to see it. These stories were examples from the news and each scene was analyzed through a microphone.
