2018 1 oz Grenada Silver Diving Paradise Coin.

Another great product of the EC8 here is the 2018 1 oz Grenada Silver Diving Paradise Coin.

20220811_040902.jpg

Since 2018 the Scottsdale Mint has been producing coins for the EC8 or Eastern Caribbean Bank consisting of Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

All 8 Countries have their own design and the design on the reverse side changes every year. The 2018 Grenada Diving Paradise Coin is the 4th coin in the series. Since Grenada is known for it's coral reefs and many ship wrecks it is a great spot for scuba divers so this is a very fitting theme to start off the first year of the series.

The reverse side features two divers swimming through the coral reefs and a ship wreck in the back ground. Across the top is the name of the Country and the year of issue.

The obverse side of all of the EC8 series is the same featuring a profile depiction of Queen Elizabeth II created by Ian Rank-Broadley.

I admit I had to look a few times wondering if I saw a diver until I read your text. Nevertheless, a nice coin and very suitable for the collection if that area is known for their coral reefs.

With their coral reefs, many shipwrecks and crystal clear water they are know to have some great diving. For the first year of the series this was probably a good choice of a design. The area on the coin where the diver is located is very shiny so the divers don't look the same as they do when you are holding the coin in your hand.

You are lucky to have the Scottsdale Mint! Do you pay any sales taxes on silver?

Scottsdale does put out some great coins year after year, the company I get a lot of silver from must have some deal with Scottsdale, they seem to have many coins from there. I do pay sales tax, some places add it into the price but many add to the bill at check out.

Missed you.
Scottsdale products are great quality at very reasonable prices and one day I will visit the Eastern Caribbean islands with my own pirate ship.

Thanks, I was a little distracted for a while.
Yes, they do have some great coins the put out every year.
I would love to go check out some of the islands around the Caribbean and I even live close to them. I need to get a passport so I can go when the time is right.

Scottsdale Mint is a great mint!
I have the St Lucia's flamingos. I selectively collect them.

The company I use to get a bunch of silver from must have some kind of a deal with Scottsdale, they always send me random coins every month and many of them are from Scottsdale. No complantes from me though they have a lot of great products.

Awesome coin, Mike.
I actually have one sitting on my desk. I was going to post about it this weekend, lol.
It has been there for a week. I shouldn't procrastinate.
I am going to tag @raj808. He has done some posts about diving. I figured he might like it.

Either way, it is an awesome coin with excellent detail.
Thanks for sharing.
