What About This Wardrobe Cabinet?
Modesty aside, do you know that I personally designed this and had it made by our carpenter?
My parents had a small furniture business since I was young. That was the time when most people order from local shops if they needed furniture for their living, dining, bedrooms, and offices. There were no shopee, lazada, ikea and big malls back then.
When they bought a property and built our own home, we had all of our home furniture done by our carpenters. So, we had the privilege of having them made according to our desired design and specifications. We carefully set the measurements that fit its use and the location where we wanted to place them.
This cabinet was used by my parents, and now that they are no longer around, I'm the one using it. I used to have my own too and was similar to this one but it was sold due to a transfer of residence where not all of our stuff can be contained in our new living space. I got this idea from a Japanese furniture catalog and modified some parts. I volunteered to decide how the shelves and divisions be organized as well as their measurements.
It used to be very wide and almost occupied the entire width of one side of the walls of my parent's bedroom and it looked like a built-in cabinet. Half of it was for my Dad and the other half for my Mom.
This portion was the narrow part of the cabinet on the right side. Notice the louvers. It was purposely made not just for design but for aeration. This part was intended for hanging clothes that were already worn and waiting for laundry, instead of placing them in an open hanger that can look messy.
Materials
Its frame and base were made of solid narra wood while the doors and walls were made of narra plywood. That's the reason why it is so heavy, and the polish was a natural finish which brought out the real color of the wood which was orange-brown.
Take a look at this part. This was the joint where the other half was connected and taken off. It was carefully designed as if we knew that one day it will be divided into two (2)🙂. Seeing it in its front view, no one would think that it was just a part of a whole structure.
Why was it divided into half?
You might notice that it is not that wide in the photo. Well, something happened. For some reason, my parents decided to sell our property and so we had to transfer to another location. Being so wide, it was too difficult to transport. I could not remember anymore where the other half went- either somebody bought it or it was given to my cousin.
At present, I'm using it in our new residence. Again, as I have mentioned in my previous post, I had some emotional attachment to some of my stuff and unlike the plates (in my previous writing), I am not disposing of it because this is very useful to me now since our new living space has no cabinets.
That's all for today and thanks for reading. Until next time.
Take care!

That's a cool design and quite a rarity to see a wardrobe built thoughtfully. I love the partition of it that just makes a lot more sense than a regular wardrobe out there.
Yes indeed, thank you so much.
