The traditional heritage village is so cool
Hi.. Good morning. Today I am going to take you on a tour around the heritage village of Sabah State Museum. This is one of the best museums in Malaysia. There is even an outdoor exhibit where you can tour real-life villages made to scale replicating what houses were in the past.
The bamboo walkway
This bamboo walkway is pretty interesting. Some shade from the hot sun. Be one with nature.
Then there is the tour of some venomous plants. I definitely won't get too close to these plants. In case I get some poison onto my body.
So where was I headed to? The cool suspension bridge with lots of lotus plants beside it.
Suspension bridge
A short little suspension bridge. A breath of fresh air. I enjoy my morning walking along this bridge.
My wife and sister-in-law on this bridge
After crossing the bridge, I saw a whole area dedicated to traditionally built houses. Houses are no longer built this way.
Most of the houses here showcase what it was like before bricks and cement.
The floor is made of bamboo. The best thing about having bamboo flooring is that it is quite cool. A great way to have heat dissipation.
The roof
The inside of the building even had a second floor. Wow. That is pretty cool. A second floor inside the building is made of bamboo.
Traditional houses
Amazing building. Beautiful.
While I was there, I saw maintenance work being carried out at some of the houses to repair the building.
A long house and its corridor
Everything is made from raw materials that you can find in the jungle.
The different rooms
I wonder if there was much privacy.
Some of the little huts are in the middle of the lotus lake. Such a beautiful sight.

An outdoor cooking area from my presumption.
I was searching for one particular house. That was the Brunei house. I wanted to see what houses in Brunei used to look like. Brunei was the country I grew up in.
The cooking utensils and some pots
The original way of boiling water
Finally, the Brunei house
I was searching for this house. Wow. Finally, I got to see this house in person. It was quite modern as compared to other houses. Even the inside looked better.
Thank you for spending your time to read this post. Appreciate it a lot. I enjoyed myself a lot here and I took so many photos to share. I just love to keep a digital copy of stuff in real life for the future.
Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍

I thought this was the Monsopiad Heritage Village but nope, it's the one at the state museum. I have been to the museum but skipped this village or maybe it wasn't open when I was there years ago.
This place is a must visit if you do come here.. really amazing to see the different houses and villages.. 🙏😊
Amazing and peaceful, it is a great place to stay away from the crowd
