The Ramadan bazaar
Good morning. It is Ramadan here in Malaysia. The fasting month of the Muslim. There are many bazaars here in Miri, Sarawak that have been set up for Muslims to buy food before heading back to eat after Sungkai. There are many bazaars here in Miri at the moment and this is one of them.
Let's go and have a look at the different stalls here.
Grilled fish
Grilled fish is placed in a special sauce on the banana leaf.
The Emart Bazaar here in Miri
Let's have a look at what this place has to offer for the customers. So many choices of drinks to buy.
Drink stalls are very popular.
Green and white colour-packed drinks.
Grilled chicken Filipino style
This guy has a Filipino wife. On the right, at the moment, he's selling his famous Filipino-styled manok or chicken. Everytime I see him, he loves to introduce to me the chicken that he grills.
She is busy grilling some fish
I stood there looking at her grilling the fish in a special slightly spicy sauce. These are delicious.
Fried fish lekor
These are fried fish Lekor. Snacks made from fish. Super yummy if you love them. Something that is special here in Sarawak. These are best eaten once you've bought them from stalls to maintain it's crispiness.
Fried enoki mushrooms
Bought these fried enoki mushrooms. Added some cheese to them. Super duper crispy. I ate them and could here them crunching in my mouth.
This is the Ramadan bazaar here in Miri. In another couple of weeks, these stalls would close for the new Muslim year. Till next year.
Thats a lively ramadan bazaar in there. There's a lot of stalls where you could try a lot of foods. I will also recommend that Filipino Style grilled chicken, a must try (☞^o^) ☞
