One of the most fascinating places here in Miri is the Tua Peh Kong temple. This temple survived world war 2 and perhaps world war 1.

The main colour theme of this temple is red. During important dates in the Chinese Lunar calendar, this place would usually be filled with lots of worshippers.

Two golden dragons guard the temple from a lot of harm.

Currently, the temple is working on a cement dragon that is pretty nicely shaped. Let's have a look at the inside.

The ceilings are nicely painted with beautiful skies.

Lots of red colours painted on the gate with Chinese characters. There are alot of intricate art on entrance.

The tua peh kong

This is the biggest in the whole of Borneo if I am not mistaken. It is around two and the half storeys tall.

The tortoise that brings fortune. With some tortoises in the tortoise pond. There are some fishes here too.

Lots of lantern hang from the ceiling. Each with a name to be blessed by the deities.
